SENIOR LIVING: SETTLING INTO YOUR NEW HOME

Senior Group Friends Exercise Relax at retirement concepts

For many people, moving in to and getting used to a retirement community can be a stressful and disorienting experience. It’s normal to feel apprehensive and concerned while adjusting to the change, but these worries shouldn’t stop you from considering moving to a retirement community. In fact, it might be one of the best choices you can make! And to make the move even easier, each of our communities is staffed with a caring and dedicated team to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible and that you’ve settled into your new suite in no time!

YOU’LL FEEL AT HOME

You may feel some sadness to leave your old home behind, as living in a community filled with people you may not know may be a source of stress. However, if you’re moving into an independent or assisted living apartment, you’ll be able to furnish it with your own belongings. This ensures that you’ll feel right at home. Complex care suites are fully furnished with everything you need to be comfortable. We hope that each of our residents feels comfortable, happy and surrounded by positivity as much as possible. In fact, it’s encouraged to bring as many photos, decorations, and mementos as you’d like!

YOU’LL FEEL SECURE

Many people worry about their security when moving into a building populated by so many people. Fortunately, these worries are completely unfounded. Your suite will be your own private refuge and nobody will enter unless you’ve invited them or there’s an emergency.

Additionally, there’s staff on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week. That means that you and the other residents are safe and that you’ll receive immediate assistance in the case of an emergency or medical event.

YOU’LL BE ABLE TO STAY CLOSE TO FAMILY

Some people are concerned that moving out of their home means being separated from their spouse, especially when they have different care needs. However, most of our Retirement Concepts communities allow couples to continue to live together even when they require different levels of care. Read our blog about aging together to learn more!

Your family members and friends can also visit you anytime they’d like, and they’re free to enjoy all the amenities with you while they’re there. In fact, some of our communities have guest suites where visitors can stay overnight. If you need to stay in touch with people who live far away, we include free Wi-Fi in all shared areas.

Pets are welcome to join your family on their visits. In some locations, they can even move in with you.  Learn more about the philosophy behind our pet-friendly communities.

YOU’LL DISCOVER NEW THINGS

The best thing about a retirement community is that there’s always something going on. With movie nights, theme parties, day trips and clubs where you can enjoy your hobbies with others, you’ll never be bored. You’ll definitely make new friends and maybe even discover a new passion.

Our dining rooms offer a delicious and varied menu. We’re also able to accommodate any special diet. Some of our locations even boast a monthly themed buffet night! There is never a dull moment at Retirement Concepts!
