Peace Portal Lodge is a Residential Care Home that has become a landmark in White Rock for outstanding nursing care. Located centrally in the South Surrey/White Rock area, Peace Portal Lodge is nearby to local shopping malls, restaurants, doctors’ offices and the White Rock Pier.
Recently renovated, our home has a cozy, bright and airy atmosphere consisting of a main lounge and several intimate spaces throughout. To ensure home-like surroundings, rooms are tastefully decorated in soft colours with comfortable furnishings, each with 2 piece ensuite. Residents are encouraged to bring belongings and decorations to create an atmosphere that is familiar to them and to their families.
Residential Care (Skilled Nursing Care)
Residents are cared for by a highly trained, professional and caring staff, in a safe and secure environment. We accept residents requiring intermediate, extended, palliative, dementia and respite care. We have both funded and private pay facilities. Funded facilities must be applied for through Fraser Health.

Residential Care Entertainment and Recreation
Our trained Recreation Staff is dedicated to making time spent at Peace Portal quality time. We want our residents to be able to fill their days with worthwhile activities and entertainment to the best of their ability. We encourage the participation of family and friends. We also respect our residents’ rights to dignity and privacy when they wish it.
We take every opportunity to celebrate special occasions: – birthdays, holidays, special days, the seasons, and anything else that might be happening.

Antonia 'Toosje' Devos
General Manager & Director of Care
Toosje (pronounced “Toe-shh) comes to White Rock via Kamloops, from Southern Ontario, near Niagara Falls. She is a Registered Nurse who brings a wealth of experience in both acute care and long-term care, as staff and as management, in BC, Ontario, Quebec and New York State.
She has been with the Retirement Concepts family since 2009 at Kamloops.
As well as the relevant nursing credentials, Toosje has a diploma in Clinical Management and is a Certified Long-Term Care Administrator. She holds a Certificate in Gerontology Case Management from McMaster University. She views learning and education as a life-long undertaking.
Toosje is delighted to be in White Rock to share in the care and well-being of our residents. She brings a true passion for long-term care residents and care givers. She is looking forward to leading the team at Peace Portal Lodge to provide the best possible quality care to PPL residents and families.
Debbie Dorsa
Administrative Coordinator
Debbie joined Peace Portal Lodge in January 2010. She comes from an extensive background in management, administration and customer service including 8 ½ years in the banking industry.
She is very excited to be working in the health care industry as she has a passion for the well being of people, particularly seniors. She enjoys the daily interactions with staff and residents and hopes to provide family members with the assurance that their family members are receiving the best care and attention they deserve.
