COVID-19 Update

Retirement Concepts is continuing to treat the situation related to COVID-19 very seriously at each of our seniors’ communities, to protect our vulnerable population.

We want to reassure residents, families and the public that we are following the direction of BC’s Public Health Officer to the letter and have full infection prevention and control precautions in place until further notice.

The following applies to Residential Care and Assisted Living and Independent Living: restricting ALL visitors from the premises, including family members; ensuring no staff member is working in multiple facilities; applying social distancing among residents in each facility, including during mealtimes; ongoing, environmental cleaning and increased frequency of high touch surfaces in order to break the chain of infection; and, a commitment by staff and residents to regular/proper hand hygiene to break the chain of infection, by washing their hands with soap and water and applying hand sanitizer.

For our assisted living residents, we unfortunately have had to close some of our dining rooms to meet social distancing requirements and are offering in- room dining. For residents who wish to leave their rooms, take out is available for pick up.

Please know that the care and safety of residents is our number one priority and we are monitoring all residents closely. As such, we will continue to act upon the latest advice of BC’s health ministry and will adapt our operations as necessary and recommended.

We thank staff for the ongoing commitment and families and loved ones for their cooperation during this difficult period.
