A Message From General Manager Camila

As we continue to respond to ever evolving challenges associated with the pandemic, our primary focus remains keeping our residents and team members safe. As we adapt to phases within the country, Guildford Seniors Village will continue to keep all current infection control protocols and physical distancing in place as per Fraser Health Authority for the foreseeable future.  While we understand and empathize on how challenging this whole process has been in the past few months, we believe it is essential to keep our community safe.  As per current studies, we know that Covid-19 poses a particular threat to the elderly community and those with pre-existing conditions. Therefore, it is crucial that we remain vigilant, and in our caution to avoid easing preventive measures too soon.  I would love to hear from you and your experience during your visitations, whether is a compliment or a concern and feedback as well.  Our wonderful team is here to support you and your family member who lives in Guildford Seniors Village, so please let us know how can we help with your unique needs.  We thank you all and the family members as we navigate these unchartered waters together and learn from each other.

Protocols

Strict compliance measures to all protocols remain unchanged in Guildford Seniors Village, following the direction of our public health officials, including preventative & enhanced infection control, monitoring residents’ & staffs’ health closely, and visitor restrictions.

Essential Services now include:

Deliveries

Kindly press the button at the speaker (to your left) to inform our team if you’ve delivered an item in the lobby vestibule. Please label your delivery with resident name, and we will ensure sanitizing and delivery to loved one.  If you wish to bring new clothing, feel welcome to do so.  Thank you!

In The #RCSpotlight    What Brings You Joy?

Our Therapeutic Recreation Team creates programs within our two gardens – bingo, music, gardening and visiting in small group of five residents at this time.   You may know we have transitioned from One to One programs, to small groups of 5 (as per Health Authority Infection Control), and much focus is on Designated Visitor implementation at this time.  We do track participation, and promote independence- inspired by each individuals’ initiative & independence.  (Photos attached)  Our two communities balconies are an excellent way to relax, enjoy the sunshine, summer air and sit and chat with a friend. Plus a view overlooking the gardens is easy on the eyes!
