Dear Guildford Community,
We remain in “Enhanced Monitoring” in the Arbutus Neighborhood at this time:
This means we are not on outbreak but are on heightened precautions & extra preventative measures.
We will continue under this protocol until the required “infection free” time has passed.
We will update you when we know the date.
There are no new cases and no staff or residents are presenting with any symptoms.
- A case of covid was identified (as per May 10) & we are in consult with Public Health regarding continuation of current protocols.
- 9 residents are in Droplet Precaution
- Nurses have contacted resident decision- makers to inform
Point Prevalence Testing
- Swabs completed & all 9 results are negative;
- Testing continues as per contact tracing – all results to date are negative
- 2nd Round of Point Prevalence Testing planned for next week
- Point Prevalence: is a term used to test a group of people at a single point in time. It can be any testing depending on the need, situation, or transmission.
Point prevalence test is a test of a group of individuals at the same time in one location; in the case of Covid, is a swab or gargle test.
- We will update everyone on the results as we receive them in the daily emails.

Second Floor Community- Arbutus Neighborhood Only: as per Public Health guidance, Enhanced Monitoring & Droplet Precaution protocols are implemented as below:
- In Person Visitation is on hold until further notice; virtual visits only
- All inquiries in regards to Virtual Visitation (i.e Skype, Zoom, Facetime & phone calls) or email your message to your loved one, please contact the Recreation Department: *scheduling subject to staff cohort availability, thank you for understanding

- Residents in observance are on droplet precaution:
- Droplet Precaution is supporting resident in their suite (quarantine) with personalized care, in-suite dining, one to one recreation, housekeeping & laundry services, and with consult & compliance with Public Health guidelines
- Family decision makers have been contacted by General Manager/Nurses.
- Cohorting resident & staff in Arbutus Neighborhood includes housekeeping services, with extra housekeeping & enhanced sanitizing, and recreation
- Strict compliance with PPE, Health Pre-Screen 2x daily for all essential staff & residents continues.
- Daily Education regarding PPE, protocols & hand hygiene includes enhanced Huddle Guide.
- PPE stock & replenishment is stable
- Recreation Programs as One-To-One Visits & Programs continue in un-affected areas.
- No food donations at this time, as we are minimizing all risk factors, with focus on each resident and the continued high level care and safety of our community

No Drop Ins.
- PLANNING A RESIDENT OUTING (or walk) – a minimum of 24 to 48 hours advance notice is required
- Only visitors who are on the “Resident Access List” are permitted to remove residents from the secured building on an approved & scheduled basis.
- Recreation will confirm scheduled date with Nurses that Resident is able to continue with outing (i.e. resident wellness, essential medical appointment)

- For visitors who do not use email, or are hearing impaired, visits can be booked on site, with a minimum of 24 hours in advance.
Compassionate Or Essential Visits Continue: Support in Care
- If your loved one is transitioning in their Life Journey, the Care Team will reach out to Resident Decision Maker in collaboration, to notify and arrange visit.
- Care Team will reach out with recommendations for Essential support.
- Covid 2nd Vaccinations are being administered June 14th to a few remaining residents by consent.*Dates may vary for some residents.

Strict compliance to all protocols in place corporately as well as directives of the health authorities, continues at Guildford Seniors Village.
This includes preventative & enhanced infection control, monitoring residents’ & staff health closely, and visitor designations.
Deliveries at Lobby Entrance:
- Please label your delivery with resident name & suite number, and we will ensure sanitizing and delivery to loved one.
- Kindly press the button at the speaker (to your left) to inform our team if you’ve delivered an item in the lobby vestibule.
