We are pleased to announce today that Guildford Seniors Village has been declared OUTBREAK FREE by Public Health.

This is obviously positive news and we are grateful to staff for their tremendous effort, commitment and dedication to our residents. However, we need to continue being vigilant and a number of protocols will remain in place as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of residents.

Protocols

Proactive measures continue, including restricting ALL visitors, with the exception of those that may be related to “end of life” or deemed essential.

We will continue to promote social distancing for staff and residents and there will be a continued focus on social distancing, personal protection equipment (PPE) for staff and residents, active screening of all staff, and ongoing attention to cleaning and sanitizing.

The dining room will be re-opened but social distancing protocols will be put in place for mealtimes.

Communication

This will be the last of our daily updates to families (as we move to twice weekly updates on the status of Guildford) at the Retirement Concepts Facebook page.

Social calls continue to be arranged with families to residents through the support of our Recreation Team to the best of their ability with priority given to resident care. In anticipation of Mother’s Day, please know we are planning a Tea & Treats Trolley visits to each, but welcome your thoughtful expressions through emailed messages, photos, flowers or cards.

Staffing

Staffing levels remain stable, with sufficient personal protective equipment for staff to support maximum safety and confidence in providing care to residents.
