We celebrate the health of our community and also greatly respect and appreciate the support and patience of all resident families and loved ones, over the last several months as the COVID-19 pandemic emerged. We also thank you in advance as we approach the next stages to strategically welcome designated family/loved one, as cautiously and as possible.
In response to the BC Government announcement: https://news.gov.bc.ca/releases/2020HLTH0211-001207 a Visitation Safety Plan is being developed, and once established, we will email & reach out to Family Contacts with details.
In advance of the new visitation process beginning, please note some of the key aspects:
- Family/social visits are limited to a maximum of one family member or friend at a time as space permits in a facility.
- Our priority is protecting residents, so we are taking a cautious and phased approach. Initially, residents will be able to visit with one designated family member or friend, once a Visitation Plan is established by Care Community.
- We hope to expand this process over time, but that decision will be guided by provincial health officials
- Once a Visitor Plan is approved and communicated to Family Contacts, all visits must be booked in advance to allow for the operators of long-term care and assisted living residences to safely proceed & accommodate scheduled visitors.

Protocols
Strict compliance measures to all protocols remains unchanged in Guildford Seniors Village, under the direction of our public health officials, including preventative & enhanced infection control, monitoring residents’ & staffs’ health closely, and visitor restrictions. Essential Services remain the same, and announcement of opening of Hair Salon will be communicated once safety plans are confirmed with service provider.
Dining
A Summer Menu is under final review to be featured in the Maple, Arbutus, Dogwood & Rosewood Neighborhood Dining Rooms, celebrating locally sourced ingredients, including Dietitian recommended texture and nutrition requirements for each individual.
Deliveries
Kindly press the button at the speaker (to your left) to inform our team if you’ve delivered an item in the lobby vestibule. Please do label your delivery with resident name, and we will ensure sanitizing and delivery to loved one. Please no food items for residents. If you wish to bring new clothing, feel welcome to do so. Thank you!

This week in the #RCSpotlight we introduce you to Fur-Love beautiful Molly, in our eyes a Hero, who is a certified St. John’s Therapeutic Dog Visitor to Guildford Seniors Village over the past few years. She has come to know all her ‘best friends’ in Guildford Seniors Village, and loved to make visiting rounds throughout each of our four neighborhoods, walking around each garden and spending time with dog-lovers. We miss her ‘parent’ Gail, and Molly tremendously during these past few months, and truly look forward to a time when we can resume visits in some fashion. We cherish their compassion, kindness and commitment to residents. Thank you Molly & Gail!
