Guildford Seniors Village – Update 30 May 2020

A Message from General Manager, Camila Nunes

Dear Families & Extended Community,

The past few months have been challenging to you and your loved ones as we face changes globally and learn to adjust to our new reality with Covid-19. Guildford Seniors Village takes the safety of our Residents very seriously and we are following Fraser Health Authority protocols and guidelines to ensure we keep everyone in our community safe. I applaud all families and staff for all cooperative and fabulous efforts. We will continue being diligent in our safety practices, but the good news is that it will not be forever. As new phases are implemented and cases of Covid-19 decreases, we will be looking to resume visitations in the near future, so please hang tight as we are almost there!

In the meantime, if you would like to Facetime your family at GSV, please call and schedule as we would love you to be connected in this time as it is very important for the mental health of the residents.

We are delighted that the month of June is nearly here, celebrating warm days with beautiful skies. Our Residents started going into the gardens to enjoy some much-needed vitamin D. Our Recreation Team is designing a fun dynamic schedule following safety guidelines for social distancing. Our Dining Team are also adjusting to accommodate the new guidelines and ensuring the safety of our wonderful residents.

June is a very special month, especially with Seniors Week June 1 to 8, and Father’s Day- which we plan to make a memorable time for all seniors with planned festivities.

Please do reach out to me if you have any concern with your loved one who lives here and understand your needs on case to case basis.

We thank all families & extended community for messages and calls of kindness and patience. Thank you, Maureen G, for reaching out to us to deliver the kindest handwritten cards from Newton Baseball U13 Team & local children – you melt our hearts. We will put all cards on display for residents to enjoy.

Your Jokes of The Day raised our spirits, and we thought we would share them here to bring a smile to others:

Answer:               It waves
