As we continue with health protocols, vaccinations, and focus on best care & life enrichment for individuals in GSV community, we take a moment to cherish that no resident has experienced covid to-date. We continue with our vigilance, and with joy.

As our Health Pre-Screener Jivan says it best, “Keep moving from Strength to Strength”.

PROTOCOLS

Strict compliance to all protocols in place corporately as well as directives of the health authorities, continues at Guildford Seniors Village. This includes preventative & enhanced infection control, monitoring residents’ & staff health closely, and visitor designations.

In respect to all residents & community, please continue to adhere to all Covid prevention protocols with hand hygiene, lobby Pre-Screen Health Check & of wearing mask at all times

PLANNING A RESIDENT OUTING (or walk) – a minimum of 48 hours advance notice is required

Only visitors who are on the “Resident Access List” are permitted to remove residents from the secured building on an approved & scheduled basis.
Recreation who will confirm scheduled date with Nurses that Resident is able to continue with outing (i.e. resident wellness, essential medical appointment)

COMPASSIONATE OR ESSENTAIL VISITS – SUPPORT IN CARE

If your loved one is transitioning in their Life Journey, the Care Team will reach out to Resident Decision Maker in collaboration, to notify and arrange visit.

Care Team will reach out with recommendations for Essential support.

Covid 2^nd Vaccinations are being administered June 14^th to a few remaining residents by consent.*Dates may vary for some residents.

Deliveries at Lobby Entrance:

Please label your delivery with resident name & suite number, and we will ensure sanitizing and delivery to loved one.
Kindly press the button at the speaker (to your left) to inform our team if you’ve delivered an item in the lobby vestibule.

Have the munchies? The Snack Trolley makes its rounds through each neighborhood for afternoon and evening snack & hydration selections.

Daily homemade nutritious & comforting Soup Lunch features this week: Butternut Squash, Chicken Rice, Vegetable Harvest, Tomato Herb Florentine, Cream of Mushroom, Split Pea, Tomato Soup #YUM

THERAPEUTIC RECREATION Celebrating Seniors Week June 6 to 12!

We’ve been enjoying some recreation programs such as gardening, exercise classes and discussion groups in the Maple Garden. This weather!

Looking Ahead – I Love You Dad

Hard to believe that June has arrived, and a very special day, Father’s Day will be celebrated soon.

“Fishing With Dad” is a fun theme that is planned, and your photos and stories of Dad ‘fishing’ will tell a great tale!

“A special thank you to all families who provide support and for quick response to Residents’ needs”.

Veronica may reach out to you to discuss & completing Representation Agreements (care & health decision making). This is a form that needs to be filled out by family, at no expense. Forms are available at Guildford Seniors Village, and can be provided the next time you visit your loved one.

Remember that sharps are not permitted in Guildford Seniors Village, such as razors.

Please provide an electric shaver and any updated personal grooming items for your loved one. Father’s Day is coming soon, and personal grooming such as nail clippers, electric shaver, new toothbrush and toothpaste, and lotion make for caring care packages ‘made with love’!
