Guildford Seniors Village – Update 10 June 2020
We continue to cherish a healthy community, residents and essential staff, and would like to share our gratitude to attending physicians, Dr. Dicesare & Dr. Samoil for adapting to protocols with unwavering support integral to Resident quality of life & clinical Care Team success.
Protocols
We continue to adhere to strict compliance to the direction of our public health officials, preventative & enhanced infection control, monitoring residents & staffs’ health closely.
In compliance with Health Authority, we remain closed to Visitors, with the exception of essential service providers. Our entire community misses family visitors and extended community.
Dining Room
Our home cooked dining features popular daily soup specials, nutritious and comforting. This week, favourites featured include Pumpkin Soup, Chicken Noodle, and Harvest Vegetable Soup. Breakfast, lunch and dinner service within each of our four neighborhood dining rooms creates a sense of community & socializing, and knowing each individual creates optimal dietary fulfillment with options of specific diet textures with in house Dietician consult. Daily snack trolley room service both afternoon and evenings, creates delicious social visits, something to look forward to.
Recreation
Mindfully prioritizing programs that are most meaningful to each resident has been our focus. This includes connecting loved ones via phone, Facetime or Skype.
Please contact 604-582-0808 ext. 203 or email recreation-gsv@retirementconcepts.com to place your request for a social call connect.
If you would like to send a message or photos to your loved ones, kindly email recreation-gsv@retirementconcepts.com
Deliveries
Please feel welcome to drop off items for your loved one (cards, crossword puzzles, flowers in vase, specific supplies if requested by Care Team) in our lobby vestibule; however, do press the speaker buzzer (to your left) to inform our team, as we will ensure sanitizing and delivery to loved one. Please no food items for residents. Thank you!
Gratitude
Taking time for self-care is vital for health – emotionally, physically, mental and spiritually. We hope you are finding new ways to create joy, purpose and comfort in your lives.
Last week in support of ‘self-care’, we welcomed essential staff with our GSV Ice Cream Truck with cool treat options that brought laughter and elevated spirits.
Our new entrance sign “Heroes Work Here, Thank you for your Service” is one way to THANK incredible individuals who understand, celebrate and share their gifts & skill in the fine ‘art of caring’. Caring Changes Lives!
