Outbreak protocols continue (declared on outbreak as of January 8th); one staff continues to isolate at home; one staff is cleared, and we continue to remain with no new infections/ no symptoms.
We thank each of you for united collaboration in managing all risks.
On a daily basis, we are in contact with the health authorities and continue to follow their direction. They will determine the time in which we can begin a step down process, and once that has been approved, we will communicate it in these emails.
We remain closed to Visitors until further notice.

- Admissions and transfers are suspended.
- Please no Food deliveries from family at this time.
*On January 11th, Covid vaccinations arrived and were administered to residents who shared their consent or whose decision makers provided their consent.

At this time, all vaccine supply is first prioritized to Residents; then if surplus, Essential Staff. If extra, it is then we will be able to reach Essential Visitors, with very short notice due to nature of handling the vaccine.

1st Floor Neighborhoods *Outbreak Protocols implemented in compliance with health authority & Public Health are as follows:
- Maple & Dogwood Neighborhoods are on droplet precaution
- Contact tracing in effect to determine any exposure from affected individuals; then swabbed/tested for COVID-19. If your family member was traced, you would receive a phone call from us.
- Extra housekeeping is cohorted for 1st Floor for enhanced services & sanitizing.
As a precaution:
- 1st floor neighborhood dining rooms are currently closed; room service of home cooked Winter Menu & Snacks in disposable containers is in effect.
- 2nd floor neighborhood dining rooms continue to welcome residents; home cooked dining is served in disposables in the Rosewood & Arbutus Neighborhood for maximum infection control practises
- Cohorting resident & staff by neighborhood, includes housekeeping services & Recreation Programmer.
- Strict compliance with PPE, Health Pre-Screen 2x daily for all essential staff & residents continues.
- Daily Education regarding PPE, donning/doffing, protocols & hand hygiene includes enhanced Huddle Guide.
- PPE stock & replenishment is stable.
If your family member becomes symptomatic or requires testing, you will be contacted by phone.
General updates or information will be sent out in daily emails.
Dining
Winter Menu featured a wonderful spiced chia pudding– infused with cardamom, ginger, maple syrup & cinnamon. This refreshing ‘dessert’, served cold, has many health benefits of natural spices. #YUM
Recreation
‘One-To-One’ Programs continue
- Guided by residents’ interests, & care plan, activities may include word search & crossword puzzles, knitting, reading, hand massage & Serenity Nail Spa, walking & reading emailed messages from loved ones’.
- Experiences are meaningful and personalized
