Guildford Seniors Village - 7 January 2021

Dear Residents’ Family, Friends, Decision-Makers and Guildford Community,

I am writing to provide today’s update on a Covid-19 exposure.

One of our staff has been contact-traced for Covid-19 exposure. Upon notifying us, the employee was requested to have a Covid-19 test done and to self-isolate. We currently await results regarding the staff in question.

We immediately informed Public Health and it was decided that enhanced monitoring is effective immediately in the 1^st Floor Neighborhoods, Maple & Dogwood, in Guildford Seniors Village.

1^st Floor Neighborhood Protocols implemented in compliance with health authority are as follows:

- Contact tracing in effect to determine any exposure from affected individual; then swabbed/tested for COVID-19.
- If your family member was traced, you would receive a phone call from us.
- Enhanced Isolation, observation & care of resident(s) in potential exposure.
- All visitations are cancelled as we await guidance from Public Health.
- Admissions and transfers are suspended.
- Recreation Programs as One-To-One Visits will continue in un-affected areas.
- All meals & snacks are delivered by room service in disposable containers.
- Please no Food deliveries from family at this time.

Furthermore,

- Cohorting resident & staff by neighborhood, includes housekeeping services.
- Strict compliance with PPE, Health Pre-Screen 2x daily for all essential staff & residents continues.
- Daily Education regarding PPE, protocols & hand hygiene includes enhanced Huddle Guide.
- PPE stock & replenishment is stable.

If your family member becomes symptomatic or requires testing, you will be contacted by phone.

Any general updates or information will be sent out in these emails.

Our focus is on each resident and the continued high level care and safety of our community.

Covid Vaccinations are being administered in January to both residents & staff by consent, and supply roll out & directives from local health authorities.

Protocols

Strict compliance measures to all protocols remain in Guildford Seniors Village, following the direction of our public health officials, including preventative & enhanced infection control, monitoring residents’ & staffs’ health closely, and visitor designations.

Deliveries: kindly press the button at the speaker (to your left) to inform our team if you’ve delivered an item in the lobby vestibule. Please label your delivery with resident name, and we will ensure sanitizing and delivery to loved one. For resident safety, kindly refrain from passing items via windows as we must carefully sanitize all. Thank you.

Please note Dogwood & Maple Neighborhood Dining Rooms are currently closed, and room service of home cooked Winter Menu & Snacks Trolley is in effect.
