We are so pleased to welcome Designated Visitors in July in our physically distanced designated meeting areas. As per the following Health Authority Infection Control Mandates, a designated visitor by appointment can be arranged in the following ways:

As welcoming Family and loved ones has commenced, please remember to continue hand washing practises, wear your mask (mandatory) and smile with your eyes!
As new visitation process begins, please note some of the key aspects:
- Family/social visits are limited to a maximum of one family member or friend at a time as space, time and health permits
- Our priority is protecting residents, so we are taking a cautious and phased approach. Initially, residents will be able to visit with one designated family member or friend in July in a designated area.
- We hope to expand this process in future months, but that decision will be guided by provincial health officials
- all visits must be booked in advance to allow us to safely proceed & accommodate scheduled visitors, with infection controls in effect.

Protocols
Essential Services now include the opening of our Hair Salon on the second floor, commencement of mobile Dental Care offering full service care, and continuation of Foot care services, occupational & physical therapy.
Strict compliance measures to all protocols remains unchanged in Guildford Seniors Village, following the direction of our public health officials, including preventative & enhanced infection control, monitoring residents’ & staffs’ health closely, and visitor restrictions.
Dining
Our Summer Menu features ‘Resident’s Choice’ in the Maple, Arbutus, Dogwood & Rosewood Neighborhood Dining Rooms. We celebrate locally sourced ingredients, seasonal berries & vegetables, including Dietitian recommended texture and nutrition requirements for each individual. We look forward to ensuring favourite dining, including option of gluten free. We embrace seasonal variety through a four-week menu plan, featuring alternates such as mashed potatoes & gravy, rice, eggs and vegetarian option.
Deliveries
Kindly press the button at the speaker (to your left) to inform our team if you’ve delivered an item in the lobby vestibule. Please label your delivery with resident name, and we will ensure sanitizing and delivery to loved one. Please – no food items for residents. If you wish to bring new clothing, feel welcome to do so. Mindfully creating meaningful purpose is the ‘art of living’ we each strive to create. Sometimes keeping it simple it the best place to start. You may discover strengths in your new priorities & hobbies!
Some of our team have added new pets to our household, pursued higher education, or tackled goals, such as achieving a driver’s license. Individuals living in Guildford Seniors Village are enjoying the recent beautiful weather and blooming gardens- a wonderful way to relax and rejuvenate– whether in two gardens or two balconies. The view is soothing, conversation interesting, and the fresh air is always good for the soul!
Aging Well Education Safety Health Tip: The Role of Collaborative Clinical Care – It’s our Specialty!
Age doesn’t define you, and tools for success & independence can change as we age. In Guildford Seniors Village, our injury prevention & falls reduction program is a multidisciplinary focus that involves a collaboration of skilled healthcare professionals including option of Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Registered & Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Care Aides, and specialty equipment vendors to ensure independence with safety is supported. Some tools for success can mean being measured for the best fit walker, wheelchair, bed height and partnering with safety supplies such as hip protectors, fall/gel mats, and appropriate environment of hand- rails. Each care plan is created with resident & decision makers, where consent and collaboration with experts guides each as life unfolds. With greater access to consult and professionals’ guidance, living in Guildford Seniors Village streamlines support unique to each individual.
