Hello White Rock Seniors Village Families – July 10 2020

White Rock Seniors Village remains COVID-19 free.

As you may have heard we are to open our doors to on-site visitors. WRSV will safely provide the locations for visits as soon as possible. In saying this, White Rock Seniors Village maintains the right to suspend on site visitations if protocols are not followed. Please understand that we must have our policy and procedures in place to facilitate these visits happening safely and in accordance with the BC CDC Guidelines.

For more information visitors can follow this link www.fraserhealth.ca/covid19ltc-al

We will need to maintain a strict standard of infection control to ensure the safety of your loved ones and the staff.

Family visits are intended to support the emotional well-being of the resident and these visits are limited to a single designated visitor per resident and must be booked in advance according to the practice requirements below. To ensure that all families get an opportunity to visit their loved ones, there will be no re-occurring on site visits booked at this time. We will still facilitate skype, face time and window visits by contacting Jessica Sendler at jsendler@retirementconcepts.com

For our Long term Care Families:

  1. Social visits will only be allowed if there is no active COVID-19 outbreak at our home and will cease immediately if an outbreak is declared, and if WRSV goes into active outbreak management.  Visits will resume immediately when the outbreak is declared over with lessons learned applied to ongoing practice.
  2. Social visits will be scheduled in advance between the visitor and the facility.  The number of visitors will be limited to one, this effectively supports physical distancing practices while supporting meaningful social connection with the resident.  As part of the engagement WRSV will establish a process for scheduling and facilitation visits.
  3. To make an appointment to visit your family member please call Nancy Tunner at 604-541-4663 x115. Please leave a message with your name and contact number and we will call you back. Nancy is onsite to answer your requests Monday through Thursday 9:00 – 4:30 pm.
  4. WRSV will safely provide the locations for visits as soon as possible.  Residents will meet their visitors in the designated locations.  The locations of the social visits occurring at WRSV will be introduced as soon as possible but once the preparation at a site level is completed.  The key locations are as follows:
    1. Outdoor locations dedicated to visiting when the weather permits.
    2. Indoor designated locations when the weather does not permit outdoor visiting.
  5. Visitors will receive advanced guidance on the process and guidelines for social visits.  Operators will identify details about the locations and processes for visiting via email and our website.
  6. All visitors shall be screened for signs and symptoms of illness, including COVID-19, prior to every visit.  Visitors with signs and symptoms of illness, as well as those in self-isolation or quarantine in accordance with public health directives, shall not be permitted to visit.
  7. Visitors shall be instructed when to perform hand hygiene, respiratory etiquette and safe physical distancing.  All visitors are required to bring and wear a mask.
  8. WRSV must be able to safely provide oversight for these visits, including adequate staffing to provide pre-screening on arrival, providing information on infection, prevention and control for the visit, monitoring the visit, and motoring leaving of the residence.  Visitors shall go directly to the resident they are visiting in the designated area and exit the facility directly after their visit.
  9. Any furniture and surfaces in the visiting area will be sanitized as per BC CDC IPC COVID-19 Guidance for LTC and at the end of each visit.  Time should be allowed for sanitizing visitor areas and supporting residents to move to and from the visiting area between visits.
