COVID-19 Update – Millrise Seniors Village – April 16, 2020

We wish to advise you that two residents of Millrise Care Centre have tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, each has been placed in isolation and we are closely monitoring other residents and staff for any symptoms.

In an unrelated case, a staff member has also tested positive and is home, in self-isolation

We recognize that this news will raise the level of concern and anxiousness among residents and family members, but please know, the health and safety of your loved one is our top priority and we are doing everything possible to ensure they are being cared for in the best manner possible.

At this time, we are monitoring all residents and staff closely – and we are also adhering to a number of strict protocols, including the following:

We will continue to act upon the latest advice of public health officials and adapt our operations as necessary and recommended, to reduce the risk of infection and transmission as much as possible

We are down a few staff in various departments, but are working to get this addressed. Kitchen service was impacted, but managers and frontline staff were able to provide the breakfast and lunch emergency menu. Meal service for dinner will be coming from sister site Monterey, following appropriate protocols – and we plan to return to regular meal service at the site Saturday.

I want to acknowledge and thank everyone for their hard work, cooperation and collaboration at this time.

Please note, we will post daily updates  to keep you informed.
