White Rock Seniors Village 3rd Floor Residential Care remains a COVID 19 Outbreak Site as declared by Fraser Health Authority October 2nd:

Until further notice, all Site Visitations are cancelled including window visits as well as skype/facetime.

October 11 2020

Hello Everyone:

There are currently no further cases of COVID 19 at White Rock Seniors Village.

The pending swab for the resident has come back negative. We are still awaiting results of one swab for a staff member. As soon as we confirm results it will be updated in these emails. Updated!! Test result is negative. We are covid free.

On Monday October 12, a delicious Thanksgiving Dinner will be delivered and a Special Thanksgiving Goodie Bag has been created for all of our residents by some of the wonderful in house artists in our Independent living community and of course our cheerful staff!

This paper bag sat in a sanitized area for 24 hours after the artists created original designs on each bag.  We hope this small token will help brighten up the day for staff and residents on this holiday weekend.

As you are aware, West Coast Seniors Housing Management was informed on October 2, 2020, that a student on practicum at White Rock Seniors Village (WRSV) September 30 tested positive for COVID-19.  The student had contact with 3rd Floor Residential Care residents, as well as 1 staff member.  She still shows no symptoms.

The staff member in contact with the student was tested, and result was negative.

Out of an abundance of caution, Fraser Health Authority (FHA) declared the 3rd Floor of Residential Care an Outbreak Site.  They directed us to isolate 3rd Floor Residential Care residents to their rooms, and to deliver their meals by tray service.  .

Fraser Health Authority also directed closure of the 2nd Floor Residential Care Dining Room.  The Independent Living Dining room and living areas at WRSV remain open.

We have had to pause visitations for all residents, including window visits.  This includes face time and skype, as the recreation team who would normally organize these electronic visits is assisting the care team to ensure residents receive everything they need.  We are hoping to be able to reinstate face time and skype calls in the near future.

Caring for our community is our top priority and our WRSV Team is dedicated to ensuring consistent, loving and supportive care at all times.

As we receive further guidance from Fraser Health Authority, we will communicate these directives to you.

We are in communication with them at least once a day.
