White Rock Seniors Village 3rd Floor Residential Care declared COVID 19 Outbreak Site by Fraser Health Authority: All Site Visitations cancelled (this includes window visits)

Hello Everyone:

West Coast Seniors Housing Management was informed late Friday afternoon that a student on practicum at White Rock Seniors Village (WRSV) September 30 has tested positive for COVID-19.

The student had contact with 3rd Floor Residential Care residents, as well as 2 staff members.  She currently shows no symptoms.

No WRSV residents show any symptoms for COVID-19, but we are watching them carefully.  We have paused visitations for all residents.

Fraser Health Authority (FHA) declared the 3rd Floor of Residential Care an Outbreak Site, and have asked the staff members who interacted with the student to get tested.

They have also directed us to isolate 3rd Floor Residential Care residents in their rooms, and to deliver their meals by tray service.

Fraser Health Authority has allowed Residential Care Dining Rooms to remain open for all other floors of Residential Care residents, and the Independent Living areas of WRSV are unaffected.  As we receive further guidance from FHA, we will communicate these directives to you.

Please know that the care and safety of all residents is our number one priority, and we are treating the situation very seriously.

We will provide families with a Daily Email Update.  In addition, families of Residential Care Residents are in the process of being contacted by phone.  Should the condition of any resident change, their family will be notified immediately.

If you have inquiries, please contact Jessica Obra at 604 365 3930 jobra@retirementconcepts.com or scussen@retirementconcepts.com

All deliveries will be received at the front desk of the 1183 Maple Street Entrance.  This includes groceries, medications, and gifts.  All will be sanitized and delivered directly to resident suites.

When dropping off items, we would ask that families please follow the following guidelines, as I am sure you want your parent or loved one to get their deliveries in a timely manner.

  1. Please use plastic bags, not reusable bags;
  2. Make sure to label all bags with resident name and room number; and
  3. Try to limit drop offs to essential items.

We wish to thank staff, residents and families for their anticipated cooperation and understanding.
