Hello White Rock Seniors Village IL Families July 3 2020

As the Province begins the process of starting to relax some of the COVID-19 restrictions, we want to express our thanks for the patience and understanding that you have shown during a very difficult period.

We received some exciting news on June 30^th 2020, BC Health Minister Adrian Dix and BC Medical Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry announced changes to Assisted Living and Long Term Care Guidelines related to COVID -19.

Over the next 7 to 10 days, they have asked Care Providers to prepare written safety plans to facilitate one designated family member or friend visitor to single designated areas at Care Providing Sites. As a result, we will be working to address their requirements as quickly as possible.

We know that residents and families are eagerly awaiting this opportunity as are we, and as soon as our safely plan is in place to receive visitors, we will share that information with you directly by email.

In the meantime, we continue to follow all of the protocols and procedures due to Covid-19.  Here is an update as to what is covered monthly:

• Passive, Active, Staff and essential visitor daily screening for Covid-19 type symptoms before granting entry to the building
• Self-monitoring of staff continues, and they are instructed not to come to work if demonstrating the smallest signs or symptoms of a cold.
• Hand Hygiene is being monitored on a weekly basis by Nancy and ensuring the correct technique is being followed.
• Social-Distancing continues to be practiced. Remember always, if you can be 6 feet apart, you don’t need to wear a mask. If you any less than that, you must wear a mask and this goes for all parties, visitors and residents please
• Cleaning and disinfection, is a daily activity that all staff members, including management partake in.
• Social Activities and Outside Appointments – Medical appointments are allowed however, if a resident is gone for more than 24 hours, they must isolate in their suite for 14 days.
• When going to medical appointments, be sure to wear a mask and sanitize going out as well as coming in. Travelling in a car also requires the wearing of a mask.
• We continue to work with WorkSafe to ensure through their auditing process that we are meeting all safety standards.

If we can continue to keep protocols on place even as things lighten up, we will definitely help to keep our curve flattened and our seniors safe
