January 26, 2021 Update for Residents, Families and Friends

For any essential visitors that have not already had their first vaccine, Fraser health has asked us to pause booking for the vaccine until further notice.

The Federal government announced January 19, that Canada will not get a delivery from Pfizer next week as was the original plan. With this change in vaccine shipment, Fraser Health have had to adjust their vaccine strategy.

Due to this delay in vaccine shipment, we are temporarily pausing appointments for first dose COVID-19 vaccinations to essential visitors of long-term care and assisted living facilities. This ensures that we can continue to provide first doses to any remaining staff, medical staff, residents and tenants in long-term care and assisted living facilities, as well as second doses for those eligible starting at 35 days following their first dose.

– Essential visitors remain a high priority group to receive COVID-19 vaccination. Vaccination clinics for essential visitors will be announced as soon as we receive more COVID-19 vaccine.

– Thank you for your patience as we augment our strategy given this new development.

All staff and residents that were tested are negative for COVID-19.

WRSV is currently following Fraser Health procedures for Enhanced Monitoring for exposures of Covid-19. Removal from enhanced monitoring is up to the Health authority and contingent on no further cases of COVID-19 occurring at our site for a period of time.

Fraser Health has aligned their procedures with the provincial approach for Covid-19 exposures and outbreaks.

At this time, all onsite visits for 2nd floor long term care are paused. We will be rebooking any onsite visits replacing them with virtual visits or phone calls.

3rd floor long term care visits are available for onsite, window or virtual. As we have redeployed some of our recreation team, these visits can be booked on Mondays, Tuesdays or Saturdays until further notice.

To book your visit, please email wrsv-familyvisits@retirementconcepts.com or call

Our Independent living visitation has not been affected. You must book any onsite visits as always.

We will be sending these email updates to you daily. We understand they may become repetitive however we want to ensure you have all the information readily available to you.

Thank you for your Support and understanding,
