January 23, 2021 Update for Staff, Residents, Families, Friends and Affiliates of WRSV

As we have previously informed you, WRSV had one staff member that had been working on the 2nd floor Long Term Care site, test positive for Covid-19 on Jan 20 from a community exposure.

At this time there are no symptomatic or other positive cases. Contact tracing and testing was conducted on January 21st. We have received our test results and all staff and residents that were tested onsite are negative for COVID-19.

WRSV is currently following Fraser Health procedures for Enhanced Monitoring for exposures of Covid-19 in Long Term Care sites. Fraser Health has aligned their procedures with the provincial approach for Covid-19 exposures and outbreaks.

At this time, all onsite visits for 2nd floor long term care are paused. We will be rebooking any onsite visits replacing them with virtual visits or phone calls.

3rd floor visits are available for onsite, window or virtual. As we have redeployed some of our recreation team, theses visits can be booked on Mondays, Tuesdays or Saturdays until further notice.

To book your visit, please email wrsv-familyvisits@retirementconcepts.com or by calling

604-541-4663 ext 215

Our Independent living has not been affected.

Procedures Overview

Enhanced Monitoring or Outbreak is determined by the Medical Health Officer (MHO) in consultation with Public Health and the affected site/people. Public Health completes contact tracing for every positive case of Covid-19.

Compliance

Public Health provides guidance to manage the exposure during Enhanced Monitoring. Public Health guides enhanced infection prevention and control measures at all times and performs on-site audits monthly which increases to daily during an outbreak.

Reporting

During Enhance Monitoring, WRSV reports daily to our Emergency Response Team for status updates on residents, staff, and supplies including personal protective equipment (PPE) and to discuss any emerging issues. The Team is ready to deploy additional resources at a moment’s notice especially for supplies and additional staffing when required.

Additionally, Public Health has a daily check in phone call for status updates.

We will be sending these email updates to you daily. We understand they may become repetitive however we want to ensure you have all the information readily available to you.

Thank you for your Support and understanding,

The White Rock team,
