Dear Families of our Long term care residents.

As of today, none of our long term care residents are testing positive for COVID-19

None of our staff members have tested positive since the last testing done on Dec 3

We are waiting for direction from Fraser Health. We are hopeful that we can begin a step down process soon and will keep you all informed by sending theses communications out twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. (After this email, Monday Dec 21 will be the next communication)

The patience, love, understanding and gratitude shown by our families is very much appreciated by our staff who are working tirelessly to keep everyone safe. Letters of encouragement are posted for the care team.

We are continually humbled by the outpouring of compassion from our community

Today we received Christmas plants for all of our residents from a Local realtor who paired up with a local florist. Truly amazing

These communications are also posted to our website after they are sent out to you. If you have other family or friends that want to be updated, please feel free to direct them to www.retirementconcepts.com

Following the direction of the Medical Health Officer and Fraser Health, the residents will remain in their rooms until this outbreak is declared over. Recreation is concentrating on one to one visits which is very important and meaningful at this time. Music, reading and sharing meaningful moment’s keep the residents connected and let them know how much they are loved especially when family contact is limited. Remember to book your phone call, face time or skype by following the guidelines as stated below.

 Communication

Our Director of Care, Jessica, has returned to work. For any clinical questions or concerns, please call her at 604-541-4663 ext 115 or email her at jobra@retirementconcepts.com

If you would like to send cards, letters, pictures photos and notes, we would be happy to deliver to your loved one. Hearing from family or friends right now would defiantly bring a smile and warm hearts.

We ask that you remain patient. We may not be able to answer your calls or emails right way as our staff are focused on the safe care of our residents

We encourage you to book a virtual visit (Face time or skype) or arrange a phone call to keep connected with your loved ones. We will do whatever we can to facilitate this with our recreation staff.

To book your visit, facetime/skype or phone calls, please contact our Visitation coordinators at our screening desk by calling 604-541-4663 ext 215 or emailing WRSV-familyvisits@retirementconcepts.com

Deliveries

All deliveries continue to be received at the screening door that is located just north of the Maple street Entrance.  . All items are sanitized and delivered directly to the resident’s suites. If you want to have a delivery for Christmas, please drop off a few days before as we anticipate the staff will be busy with serving special dinners and sharing the Christmas Spirit.

When dropping items off:  We ask families to please follow the guidelines below in order to ensure that your parent or loved one gets their deliveries in a timely manner:

  1. Please use plastic bags, no reusable bags;
  2. Make sure to label all bags with the resident’s name and room number; and
  3. Try to limit drop-offs to essential items.
  4. If sending food or drinks, please send single serve, disposable items. No homemade food or fruit. All items will need to be sanitized. Please do not send food that need to be refrigerated.

Teamwork

We wish to thank staff, residents and families for their cooperation and understanding as we move through this phase of our outbreak.
