Dear Families of our Long term care residents.
There are no major changes in our resident status today.
Today only one of our residents on the third floor of our long term care building remains positive for COVID-19.
There are five staff members currently COVID-19 positive. They will remain isolating at home until they are cleared by the health authorities to return to work.
We have had the exterior Christmas lights installed and are currently waiting on guidance from the Health Authority to determine how we can decorate inside while keeping everyone safe.
Our front window has been beautifully painted with the spirit of Christmas in mind
We are continually humbled by the amazing outpouring of compassion from our community
The patience, love, understanding and gratitude shown by our families is very much appreciated by our staff who are working tirelessly to keep everyone safe. Letters of encouragement are posted for the care team.
These communications are also posted to our website each day after they are sent out to you. If you have other family or friends that want to be updated, please feel free to direct them to www.retirementconcepts.com
We understand that this information may seem repetitive, however we want to ensure we communicate daily and that our families have quick and easy access to this information should they need to contact us.
Please know that the care and safety of residents is our number one priority, and that we treat this situation very seriously.
Following the direction of the Medical Health Officer and Fraser Health, the residents will remain in their rooms until this outbreak is declared over. Recreation is concentrating on one to one visits which is very important and meaningful at this time. Music, reading and sharing meaningful moment’s keep the residents connected and let them know how much they are loved especially when family contact is limited. Remember to book your phone call, face time or skype by following the guidelines as stated below.
This year we were registered in the London Drugs “Adopt a Senior Program” We have just received an incredible amount of gifts including cozy blankets, fuzzy socks and chocolates along with hand written cards from the donors. With the help of our recreation department, we will distribute these wonderful presents this week. (All of course will be properly sanitized) All our long term care residents have now received their pre-Christmas packages of Joy! Why wait till Christmas we thought? Theses residents need a dose of community love and that is exactly what they got!
Many thanks to the wonderful people of White Rock /South Surrey and their families for their generosity!
If you would like to send cards, letters, pictures photos and notes, we would be happy to deliver to your loved one. Hearing from family or friends right now would defiantly bring a smile and warm hearts.
We ask that you remain patient. We may not be able to answer your calls or emails right way as our staff are focused on the safe care of our residents
We encourage you to book a virtual visit (Face time or skype) or arrange a phone call to keep connected with your loved ones. We will do whatever we can to facilitate this with our recreation staff.
To book your visit, facetime/skype or phone calls, please contact our Visitation coordinators at our screening desk by calling 604-541-4663 ext 215 or emailing WRSVfirstname.lastname@example.org
