Welcome to the Weekly Waverly Update!

Sept 12th-18th

General Managers Message:

Sorry it has been a while since I have messaged everyone. It has been a very busy summer and we are having a number of changes to the Covid-19 Orders that I am implementing. These are mainly staff related and or vaccine related.

As a reminder to all you can download a copy of your vaccination status onto your phone or print a copy. It is a very easy process that took me less than a minute. You can do this on the following site https://www2.gov.bc.ca/vaccinecard.html.

As a visitor you are being asked about your vaccine status. If you have had your 2 vaccines, you may take your mask off in the room you are visiting. If you have not had your 2 vaccines, you must keep your mask on. We have not set up a common visiting area as we do not have a lot of space in the building but if you wish to go outside that is great-please just follow the rules. For anyone wanting to come and avoid the screening, please do not do this as we must screen everyone who enters the building.

The assisted living doors are only open to residents, and emergency personal. Please walk around to the RC side which is open to screening from 0600-2130.

Over the summer we ordered some new outdoor benches, some new tables and umbrellas for people to sit at and enjoy, and I believe the grounds are looking really nice-we hope you enjoy them.

The flu season is coming and we will be preparing for administering the vaccine. This usually comes in October so plans are already being made.

As always, if you have any questions please come see one of the team members, we are always happy to help.

Recreation

Exciting times for our recreation department! Our resident bus is in full swing with scenic country bus trips on the 8th & 15th of Sept. Shopping trips every Tuesday to Walmart, Superstore, Minters and Cottonwood Mall for the month of Sept for all your shopping needs.

Wonderful news, we are now excepting volunteers back in our community with double vaccines. This is allowing the ladies on Thursdays at 2pm to be hosting Catholic Communion & Rosary. We look forward to having music performances, choirs and different social events coming this Fall.

Deliveries and Drop-offs:

All deliveries will continue to be received at the front desk and will be sanitized, bagged and we will call the tenants to come and pick up their items right away.  Please ensure you label all items with name and room number to ensure all packages are received as quickly as possible.

Reminders for your loved one to Stay Safe!

Please help us by reminding each resident daily of the following four items:

  1. Practice social/physical distancing (6 feet apart)
  2. Perform proper Hand Hygiene (Wash hands frequently for 20 seconds with the alcohol-based sanitizer or soap and hot water) 20 seconds or greater is so important.
  3. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
  4. If exhibiting any symptoms (fever, cough and difficulty breathing) please alert staff immediately.

Stay Safe, Stay Healthy, And Stay Happy !
