December 14, 2020

Dear Families of Waverley Seniors Village Residents;

We were informed on December 13th that a contracted member of our team who worked at Waverley Seniors Village December 9, 2020 tested positive for Covid-19.

Our team responded quickly and efficiently to protect our residents and tenants.  We isolated any resident in contact with the individual and informed their families.  We swabbed these residents and are awaiting results.

We will be working with the Fraser Health team to ensure all best practices are in place and we will follow all recommendations of the Medical Health Officer to ensure everyone’s safety.

As of today, all resident and all other staff remain healthy.  Fraser Health will not be declaring an outbreak at this time.  We are instructed to monitor our residents and swab if any new signs or symptoms arise.  Although an outbreak is not declared, all visitations are on hold, and we will not be accepting hospital transfers or new admissions.

We will be connecting daily with the team at Fraser Health and will keep you posted

We have begun a Daily Communication Update, which will be posted to the Community Update Section of our Website after it is sent out to you.  If you have other family or friends who would like to be updated, please feel free to direct them to www.retirementconcepts.com

We would like to thank you in advance for all for your understanding, patience and support.

Please know that the care and safety of residents is our number one priority, and that we treat this situation very seriously.  If you would like any additional information on your family member, please contact Wendy Boleen, Assistant General Manager at 604.798.0044 for general inquiries or the nurse for clinical questions.

Communication

If you would like to send cards, letters, pictures, photos or notes, we would be happy to deliver them.  Hearing from family or friends right now would bring a smile, and reduce the stress your loved ones may be experiencing as we and they adjust to this situation.

We encourage you to book a Virtual Visit (Face time or Skype) or to arrange a phone call to keep connected with your loved ones.  We will do whatever we can to facilitate this, as it is very important and meaningful to keep in touch.  Please contact us at 604 316 1139 by phone and bwild@retirementconcepts.com by email if you would like to proceed with this.

Deliveries

All deliveries continue to be received.  All items will be sanitized and delivered directly to the resident’s suites.

When dropping items off, we ask families to follow the guidelines below to ensure loved ones get their deliveries in a timely manner:

Teamwork

We wish to thank staff, residents and families for their cooperation and understanding as we move through this.

Sincerely

The Waverley Seniors Village Team
