December 24, 2020

Dear Families of Waverley Seniors Village Residents;

We were informed on December 13th that a contracted member of our team who worked at Waverley Seniors Village December 9, 2020 tested positive for Covid-19.

This is a quick update letting you know that everything continues to be stable.  We were very hopeful that we would be able to come off High Surveillance today, however we had to send off a swab late last night.  We will be waiting for the results of this swab and further direction from public health.  During the holidays remember to keep your bubbles small, wear your masks and wash your hands often.  It is often through family gatherings that COVID may spread.

We have been blessed by community members who have kindly put together something for all our residents.  It is not the best picture but I am sure you can see the caring from the community.  Our own Jocelyn will be delivering the gifts tomorrow.

I wish to say thank you to all for your kind words and support as we manoeuver our way through this period.

At this time all family visitations continue to be cancelled.

If you would like to send cards, letters, pictures, photos or notes, we would be happy to deliver them.  Hearing from family or friends right now would bring a smile, and reduce the stress your loved ones may be experiencing as we and they adjust to this situation.

We ask that you remain patient.  We may not be able to answer your calls or emails right way, as our staff are focused on the safe care of our residents.

We encourage you to book a Virtual Visit (Face time or Skype) or to arrange a phone call to keep connected with your loved ones.  We will do whatever we can to facilitate this, as it is very important and meaningful to keep in touch.

All deliveries continue to be received.  All items will be sanitized and delivered directly to the resident’s suites.

When dropping items off, we ask families to follow the guidelines below to ensure loved ones get their deliveries in a timely manner:

Please use plastic bags, no reusable bags;

Please label all bags with the resident’s name and room number;

Try to limit drop-offs to essential items; and

If sending food or drinks, please send single serve disposable items.  No homemade food or fruit please.  All items will need to be sanitized.  Please do not send food that need to be refrigerated.

These emails to you are also posted to our webpage under community updates after they are sent out to you.  If you have other family or friends who would like to be updated, please feel free to direct them to www.retirementconcepts.com

From the Waverly family to your family-have a great day tomorrow, !

Sincerely

The Waverley Seniors Village Team
