Welcome to the Weekly Waverly Update!

   May 3 – 7

General Managers Message:

Hi Everyone, Happy Spring!

Exciting news – We have hired 2 Assisted Living Screeners and they will be starting on May 6th.  The doors to Assisted Living will open up at 10 am and will close at 6pm.  For those of you visiting residents living in Assisted Living, we encourage you to use the entrance on the Assisted Living side of the building. We know the visitors will very much appreciate entering on their family’s side of Waverly!

Covid guidelines were extended and new restrictions were put in place this week from the Province. I have included links to both the travel restrictions and other restrictions below.  It is so important to follow the directions to keep yourself and everyone else safe.

Have a great week!!

Recreation

It is exciting news we have been given a grant for a Music Therapy Program.  Our Recreation Manager Jocelyn has worked tirelessly on this project to finally see it come to life.  The next steps will be educating our resident on the program so they can understand and take part!  We are always focused on providing our residents with new and exciting activities to be a part of.

Bingo is in full swing and with new residents moving in we find our group grows and grows each month.  Lots of smiling faces about this!

We have ordered new patio furniture and umbrellas for our court yards.  We know how much the residents love to enjoy our beautiful grounds.  This should be a cheery addition to our sunny days ahead!

Meals

Wonderful news – We have set up the dining room tables to how they were pre Covid-19 after following directions from Fraser health.  This is exciting news for our residents, it means now being able to carry out conversations with their friends and neighbors while they dine.  Previously we noticed with the spacing, it made it hard to hear each other talk.  Sometimes it’s the little things that make a difference and bring us together J

General Store

Don’t forget our general store is open for business.  With families welcomed back to visit in residents suites, remember you can always stop by for an ice cream treat or glass of wine!

Deliveries and Drop-offs:

All deliveries will continue to be received at the front desk and will be sanitized, bagged and we will call the tenants to come and pick up their items right away.  Please ensure you label all items with name and room number to ensure all packages are received as quickly as possible.

Reminders for your loved one to Stay Safe!

Please help us by reminding each resident daily of the following four items:

  1. Practice social/physical distancing (6 feet apart)
  2. Perform proper Hand Hygiene (Wash hands frequently for 20 seconds with the alcohol-based sanitizer or soap and hot water) 20 seconds or greater is so important.
  3. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
  4. If exhibiting any symptoms (fever, cough and difficulty breathing) please alert staff immediately.

Stay Safe, Stay Healthy, And Stay Happy !
