Welcome to the Weekly Waverly Update!

   May 24th – 28th

GM Message

It has been a few weeks since I have written a message. We have been very busy here.  We had a quality inspection in Residential Care and did very well on our report.  We are also having a quality inspection in Assisted Living this week.

I will be starting to plan second COVID vaccines for our newer residents who are coming due in June and July.

The new Ministry guidelines and lifting of restrictions will be start to unfold over the next months.  Lifting of restrictions will be exciting and I encourage you to continue to practice good hygiene, get your vaccines and follow good precaution measures.

Recreation

Another fun filled week with our residents!  Fun & Fitness has become a real staple.  We love to see the commitment each make to keep their bodies healthy and fit. Tai Chi is another one on Fridays at 4pm that we notice does wonders for the mental state. This Friday is the last Friday of the month, which means Birthday celebration time for our May Bdays!!  We love to sing and socialize together over cake and honor one another.

Meals

As the weather changes so does the kitchen.  Our head chef always takes into account the seasons to pair the right meals for our residents.  Our staff take such great pride in serving our dining room filled with smiling faces each and every day. We know everyone appreciates the knock on the door between meals for that yummy baked treat or fresh fruit.

General Store

Don’t forget to grab a treat from our stocked General Store.  Especially on those hot sunny days when a cold ice cream treat is needed J  Don’t forget we also have cards for any occasion and beer and wine.

Deliveries and Drop-offs:

All deliveries will continue to be received at the front desk and will be sanitized, bagged and we will call the tenants to come and pick up their items right away.  Please ensure you label all items with name and room number to ensure all packages are received as quickly as possible.

Reminders for your loved one to Stay Safe!

Please help us by reminding each resident daily of the following four items:

  1. Practice social/physical distancing (6 feet apart)
  2. Perform proper Hand Hygiene (Wash hands frequently for 20 seconds with the alcohol-based sanitizer or soap and hot water) 20 seconds or greater is so important.
  3. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
  4. If exhibiting any symptoms (fever, cough and difficulty breathing) please alert staff immediately.

Stay Safe, Stay Healthy, And Stay Happy !
