Hello Auburn and Waverly Family Members!

We hope all is well with you as it is with our communities.

• We hope you had a wonderful Victoria Day Weekend!
• As the Province moves to relax some of the measures related to COVID-19, at this time restrictions remain in place for Long Term Care and Assisted Living facilities. We are safeguarding your loved ones during this difficult time. Please be patient and we will get through this. We join you in hoping that all will go according to plan and FHA will soon allow visits to occur between family members and residents. When we reach that point, families will be informed.
• The Provincial Health Officer announced yesterday that visitors COULD be allowed to visit LTC and assisted living sites in June if the virus number keep reducing. There will be strict guidelines to this, and we will inform you as soon as we are aware of these guidelines.
• For Auburn residents, only essential visits are permitted (those related to situations in which is a resident may be terminal or receiving critical medical services).

Family Teleconference

• We are still trying to accommodate video chats by appointment. Please call us with a time that works for both of you and we will do our best to make it work. Please remember we only have a short amount of time to allocate to these calls.
• This week our recreation department will be implementing activities slowly with social distancing rules in place as we are aware of our residents mental well-being.

Protocols  **Please note that there are different protocols from Independent Living to Assisted and Long-Term Care**  Please give us a call if you have any questions.

We continue to follow the direction of our Fraser Health Officials to the letter, and have full infection prevention and control precautions in place. Staff continue to monitor residents closely and are ensuring that protocols are being adhered to:

• restricting ALL visitors from the premises
• ensuring no staff member is working in multiple facilities
• staff are working strictly within an assigned unit and not multiple units
• staff are removing outside clothing and footwear before and changing into uniform before starting to work
• staff are screened for symptoms upon entrance to the building, and midway through their shift
• social distancing is occurring among residents in each facility, including during mealtimes
• appropriate application and removal of personal protective equipment (PPE), and the use of individual slings (cloth component of a personal lift).
• ensuring ongoing, environmental cleaning and increased frequency of high touch surfaces in order to break the chain of infection
• staff and residents are committed to regular/proper hand hygiene to break the chain of infection, by washing their hands with soap and water and applying hand sanitizer.
