Stanford Seniors Village Community Update January 28th, 2021
To Our Extended Family,
There continues to be no signs or symptoms of COVID-19 in any of our residents/tenants or staff here at Stanford Seniors Village, and for that we are very grateful. Should the status of our Community change in any respect, please know that we will immediately contact families.
Island Health has started its COVID-19 vaccination program for priority populations. Staff at Stanford Seniors Village have received information about the vaccine and can now schedule their appointment to receive the vaccination. To date most of the staff have been vaccinated.
We are so happy to announce that our residents in Long Term Care and our tenants in Assisted Living have received their first COVID vaccination. Once we receive more information regarding vaccines for our Independent tenants and our residents that have recently joined us here at Stanford Seniors Village we will be sure to share that information with you.
We would like to thank those of you who have had a chance to visit loved ones, for following our protocols to help maintain everyone’s safety. These protocols are set forth by the health authorities and we must adhere to them or visitations can be cancelled.
As a reminder:

The recreation team are preparing activities to ensure residents can have fun, exercise and socialize with each other in our community. Arts and crafts, active games, brain games, table games and music programs are just some of the programs that we are enjoying. Please remind and motivate your loved ones to participate in these smaller group activities
We recently celebrated Robbie Burns’ day, the kitchen prepared the Haggis and I have to say it was quite tasty. Unfortunately the pipers weren’t here this year to celebrate with us but we all still had a lovely afternoon with goodies to enjoy.
Mask use by tenants in common areas:
We have kindly asked our tenants living in Independent Living and Assited Living to wear a mask in areas of the community that are shared and where they are unable to maintain a 6 feet distance. If a tenant doesn’t have a mask they are able to pick up a mask daily at the sign out book on the 1st floor.
Dropping items off
All deliveries will be received at the front desk between 7:00am – 5:00pm. This includes groceries, medications, and gifts. All items will be sanitized and delivered directly to the resident’s suites.
We would ask that families please follow these guidelines to ensure your parent or loved one to get their deliveries in a timely manner:
Reminders for your loved one to Stay Safe
Again, the following four points are so critical to discuss with your loved ones. Please help us by reminding each resident daily of the following four items:
A big thank you to everyone for working so hard to keep Stanford safe and healthy, as well as for the kindness, understanding and support that has been shown.
A little joke to help brighten the day!
What did the icy road say to the truck?
Want to go for a spin!
Riddle of the Week!
What flies when it’s born, lies when it’s alive and runs when its dies?
