Good Afternoon,

Selkirk Seniors Village remains COVID-19 Free! Please know that should the status of our community change in any respect, we will immediately inform all residents and tenant’s families or primary contact.

We have hit a milestone in Island Health, as we passed 70% of adults aged 18+ immunized.  You can see B.C’s vaccine stats on the COVID-19 dashboard here http://www.bccdc.ca/

Subsidy and Taxes – just a gentle reminder if you haven’t already completed your loved one’s taxes, to please do so; they are used to calculate their care rate. If they are not completed then Island Health has it default to their maximum rate.

VISITATION

All social visits will be booked in advanced through our social visitation line 250-940-1028 ext. 1125 or via the social visitation email Selkirk-familyvisits@retirementconcepts.com . All visitors will be signed in and screened in the front lobby prior to seeing their loved one. As per the MHO and Province, there is a limit of 2 adults and 1 child visiting any one resident/tenant inside at one time. Please note that we will ask you to change into one of our medical grade masks, as per the guidelines, when visiting on site. When booking your visit, please ask about parking instructions and where to enter the building. Do not visit if you are feeling unwell, please call and reschedule your visit at ext. 1125.

The Recreation team are still facilitating FaceTime and Skype to the best of their abilities, while also completing their other duties. Please note that these are the only two platforms we are able to use.  Please reach out to Brian DelRaye-Recreation manager and his team by e-mail at bdelraye@retirementconcepts.com or Selkirk-recreation@retirementconcepts.com, or call to set up a schedule (Brian- 250-940-1028 x1102; Rec Office- 250-940-1028 x1120).  They will be happy to confirm a date and time to connect you with your loved-one.

Thank You

Can you believe we are in June already? Summer is around the corner, and I hope with everyone complying with the MHO’s orders that we can get back to enjoying each other’s company more freely. Thank you for all that you do, every day.
