Hello to all,

Happy to report that Selkirk Seniors Village continues to be free of COVID-19! Should the status of our community change in any respect, please know that we will immediately inform all residents and tenant’s families or primary contact.

Selkirk has received lots of love and support from family, friends, and the community surrounding our facility. We thank you all for your efforts in providing presents, cards, treats, and well wishes to residents and staff during this holiday time.

Visitations

All social visitation must be booked through the Visitation Team. You can contact them at 250-940-1028 EXT. 1125.

If you are the designated visitor and are needing to cancel or rebook your visit, please give us as much notice as possible so we can try to fit someone else in that spot. Please send an email to Selkirk-familyvisits@retirementconcepts.com or via phone at 250-940-1028 EXT. 1125 to set up a visit. You can also reach out to them with any questions regarding social visits.

The Recreation team are facilitating FaceTime and Skype to the best of their abilities, while also completing their other duties. Please note that these are the only two platforms we are able to accommodate. You can reach out to the Recreation team by e-mail at Selkirk-recreation@retirementconcepts.com, or call at 250-940-1028 EXT. 1120. They will be happy to confirm a date and time to connect you with your loved-one.

Reminders for your loved one to Stay Safe:

Again, the following four points are so critical to discuss with your loved ones. Please help us by reminding your loved one of the following:

  1. Practice social distancing (6 feet apart)
  2. Perform proper Hand Hygiene (Wash hands frequently for 20 seconds or greater with the alcohol-based sanitizer or soap and hot water). This is very important
  3. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
  4. If exhibiting any symptoms (fever, cough and difficulty breathing) please inform staff immediately.

Thank You

This week I hope you get a chuckle from the following…

My weird talent is always being able to tell what is in a wrapped present.

It’s a gift!
