Hello Everyone!

There continues to be no signs or symptoms of COVID-19 in any of our residents/tenants or staff here at Rosemary Heights Seniors Village, and for that we are very grateful.

We are mindfully taking all precautions to minimize risks as we approach flu season and amongst Covid 19 infection control.

We cherish and celebrate a healthy community.  With flu season approaching, we are preparing for vaccinations for residents (as consented), and remain vigilant in infection control.

Please note that we continue to follow the direction of our provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, and our general NO VISITOR policy remains in place.

Welcome fall! It’s the harvest season with squash, corn, apples and so much more downstairs in our kitchen!

Give Thanks & Eat Turkey

RHSV Food Service Department will provide a Thanksgiving Dinner for residents on Sunday, Oct 11th in all dining rooms.

On the menu is:

Herb Roasted Turkey OR Maple & Orange glazed Ham, served with fluffy garlic mashed potatoes, traditional stuffing, buttered Brussels Sprouts & Baby Carrots.  And of course there will be room for Pumpkin Pie.

The Support Service Department Team would like to wish you all a very happy and blessed thanksgiving.

We have special meals planned for Oktoberfest (Monday Oct 5), Thanksgiving (Herb roasted turkey (OR Maple & Orange Glazed Ham) with all the trimmings on Sunday Oct 11th) and Halloween! We also have some fun National Food Days up our sleeves: National pasta day, National Chocolate Cupcake Day & National Bologna Day.

Recreation**BC Elections**

Recreation has been working with elections BC to plan a safe alternative to this upcoming snap election for our residents here at RHSV. The recreation team will be facilitating mail in voting for residents who are interested in participating. Please contact Jaylene  (jsmillie@retirementconcetps.com/ 778-545-5000 ext. 1007) if you have any questions.

We will continue to offer scheduled video calls for those families who live out of town or are unable to come in for any reason. Please connect with Jaylene Smillie in our recreation department by emailing jsmillie@retirementconcepts.com or by calling 778-545-5000 ext. 1007

As Rosemary Heights moves forward with in person visits, we are trying to offer pre-set scheduled weekly/bi-weekly visits at a time & date that works for you and if we can accommodate every family.

Designated Visitor schedules are working smoothly in our designated meeting areas. There is no change in Mandate of number of visitors as per Health Authority – protocols remain as is:

A message from our Director of Care

Remaining vigilant in infection control, and with flu season approaching, we are preparing for vaccinations for residents in Long Term Care.  Nurses will reach out to family decision makers for consents. Our Flu Vaccine Clinic is scheduled for Oct 28th.

For Independent/Assisted Living residents, the flu vaccination clinic will have a separate date (date TBD) & residents will sign the consent themselves.

Hairdressing:

We are anticipating that Rhonda will be returning and is working on her safety plan to return to the salon hopefully by 2nd week in October. We will provide contact information on how to reach Rhonda to book appointments for your loved ones once we finalize her return date.

Deliveries/Drop-offs:

All deliveries will be sanitized and delivered directly to the resident’s suites.   Delivery times are below

Monday – Friday 10am-2pm, and Saturday 1-3pm only, closed to all Sunday deliveries:

  1. Please use plastic bags, no reusable bags.
  2. Make sure to label all bags with resident name and room number.  No heavy deliveries
  3. Try to limit drop offs to essential items – as we are inundated with drop-offs.

Please do not drop off items after hours, we do not have staff to be able to accept it and may be left outside until the designated time listed, if you do, you will be taking your chances & we will not be responsible for anything that is left after hours.

A big thank you to everyone for your hard work, grace and persistence!  Let’s keep up our strong stand against COVID by remembering to wear our masks, physically distance when possible and wash our hands frequently

Stay Safe, stay calm, & stay kind.

– Your team at Rosemary Heights Seniors Village (RHSV)
