Hello Everyone!

Happy first day of October and welcome to Autumn in Surrey, cooler days and the start of the beautiful Autumn colors! There continues to be changes and almost weekly updates associated with visits in our community –  but outside of the essential scheduled visits, please note that we continue to follow the direction of our provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, and our general NO VISITOR policy remains in place.

There continues to be no signs or symptoms of COVID-19 in any of our residents/tenants or staff here at Rosemary Heights Seniors Village, and for that we are very grateful. Should the status of our Community change in any respect, please know that we will immediately contact families.

We are mindfully taking all precautions to minimize risks as we approach flu season and amongst Covid 19 infection control.

Recreation

We will continue to offer scheduled video calls for those families who live out of town or are unable to come in for any reason. Please connect with Jaylene Smillie in our recreation department by emailing jsmillie@retirementconcepts.com or by calling 778-545-5000 ext. 1007

Hairdressing:

Hurray! We are so excited to announce that Rhonda is working on her safety plan to return to the salon hopefully by 2nd week in October. We will provide contact information on how to reach Rhonda to book appointments for your loved ones once we finalize her return date.

Designated Visitor schedules are working smoothly in our designated meeting areas. There is no change in Mandate of number of visitors as per Health Authority – protocols remain as is:

Deliveries and Drop-offs:

All deliveries will be sanitized and delivered directly to the resident’s suites.   Delivery times are below

Monday-Friday 10am-2pm, and Saturday 1-3pm only, closed to all Sunday deliveries:

  1. Please use plastic bags, no reusable bags.
  2. Make sure to label all bags with resident name and room number.  No heavy deliveries
  3. Try to limit drop offs to essential items – as we are inundated with drop-offs.

Please do not drop off items after hours, we do not have staff to be able to accept it and may be left outside until the designated time listed, if you do, you will be taking your chances & we will not be responsible for anything that is left after hours.

We had been asked what it would look like IF we were to have a COVID outbreak. We thought we would share this information with you.

All other staff and residents of Rosemary Heights Seniors Village will be tested. All Rosemary Heights residents will be placed in isolation in their respective rooms and all meal services will be received by in room tray service as all dining rooms will be closed.  Any resident that tests positives will be isolated in the community and will have staff dedicated to them as to ensure no cross contamination.  Staff will be grouped into cohorts working on a specific floor, and not facility-wide.  All group recreation programs/activities will be suspended & in person family visits will be cancelled.

BC’s Medical Health Officer will be notified, and the community will follow protocols established by Fraser Health Authority, the Office of the Provincial Health Officer and the BC Center for Disease Control.  We will continue to act upon the latest advice of BC’s Health Ministry and will adapt our operations as necessary and recommended.  The outbreak period will be re-evaluated on a day by day basis pending results for staff and residents as we continue to take active measures against the spread.

A big thank you to everyone for working so hard to keep Rosemary Heights safe and healthy, as well as for the kindness, understanding and support that has been shown.

Stay Safe, stay calm, & stay kind.

– Your team at Rosemary Heights Seniors Village (RHSV)
