Hi Everyone:

We hope you are all staying safe and healthy!

We are relieved to tell you that there are no cases or symptoms of COVID-19 in any of our residents or staff here at Rosemary Heights Seniors’ Village and am happy to report we were cleared of the GI outbreak last Friday.

Should the status of Rosemary Heights Seniors Village change in any respect, please know that we will immediately contact families.

Protocols

We continue to follow the direction of our public health officials to the letter, and have full infection prevention and control precautions in place. Staff continue to monitor residents closely and are ensuring the following protocols are being adhered to:

Recreation

We are encouraging family members and loved ones to connect with your family member via telephone call, or FACETIME or SKYPE. Please reach out to Jaylene, our Recreation Manager, by e-mail at jsmillie@retirementconcepts.com or call her at (778) 545-5000 ext 1007 to set up a schedule.

The Assisted/Independent Living tenants are happy to have small group recreation programs reinstated beginning in June with a maximum of five tenants per group. Tenants will be required to sign up for programs in advance, be pre-screened prior to entry, and be required to adhere to stringent parameters to ensure safety for everyone.

Deliveries and Drop-offs:

Do not call your loved one to come to the door when you are dropping off items, and please ensure the deliveries you drop off are within easy lifting (a 5 lb box is over the top for our staff to lift). We have one main entrance & the main doorway must be clear for people to safely drop off items.

All deliveries will be received at the front entrance. This includes groceries, medications, gifts. All will be sanitized and delivered directly to the resident’s suites.

Just a reminder dropping off items; Monday-Friday 10am-2pm, and Saturday 1-3pm only, closed to all Sunday deliveries:

  1. Please use plastic bags, no reusable bags.
  2. Make sure to label all bags with resident name and room number.  No heavy deliveries
  3. Try to limit drop offs to essential items – as we are inundated with drop-offs.
  4. Please sanitize, if possible, the items before dropping off. We will re-sanitize as well to be safe.

Reminders for your loved one to Stay Safe:

Again, the following four points are so critical to discuss with your loved ones. Please help us by reminding each resident daily of the following four items:

  1. Practice social distancing (6 feet apart)
  2. Perform proper Hand Hygiene (Wash hands frequently for 20 seconds with the alcohol-based sanitizer or soap and hot water) 20 second or greater is so important.
  3. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
  4. If exhibiting any symptoms (fever, cough and difficulty breathing) please alert staff immediately.

Thank You

On a daily basis, I am overwhelmed at how truly amazing the staff we have are and at times, lost for words to express how grateful & thankful I feel about every single one of them.

I would thank each one of them from the bottom of my heart, and for all of them, my heart has no bottom. They have shown and continue to show incredible teamwork and devotion in all departments.

I am humbled to work alongside this group of extraordinary people.  And I am equally grateful for the supportive, compassionate & encouraging families & friends.  It means the world to us that you stand beside us in this journey.
