Hello families and friends of Rosemary Heights Seniors Village

We hope you are all staying safe and healthy!

NO RESIDENTS are presenting COVID-19 signs or symptoms at Rosemary Heights Seniors Village. Should the status of Rosemary Heights Seniors Village change in any respect, please know that we will immediately contact families.

We do have one team member that was confirmed COVID-19 positive and that staff member is currently home and in self-isolation.

We continue with the residents being on droplet precaution as symptoms can still occur until the morning of Jan 22nd.  We continue to monitor all residents for any symptoms and meals are being delivered via room service for the residents on the 2nd floor unit.  We are continuing with our COVID outbreak protocols & enhanced cleaning throughout the entire building.

All group programs have also been paused for that floor, however, we will continue with video calls as scheduled. In person visits will continue for all residents, EXCEPT Queens (2nd Floor West).

Today was a big day for everyone here at RHSV.  We were kept busy completing all of the residents who chose or had family help with their consent, to get COVID 19 vaccines, this includes everyone in Assisted Living and in Long Term Care 1st & 2nd floors including all residents on droplet precaution.  It was a slow start and we ended up waiting for the Fraser Health team to get the vaccines ready, but everybody did a great job, many brave faces, and no tears.   We will now wait until we are given the date for the 2nd dose of the vaccine and I will happily share that date with you all.

Protocols

We are following the direction of our public health officials to the letter and have full infection prevention and control precautions in place. Staff continue to monitor residents closely and are ensuring the following protocols are being adhered to:

As a result of the one confirmed case of COVID-19, we will provide families with a weekly email update that will also be posted under COVID updates on our website. For RHSV we send every Thursday.

Protocols

BC’s Medical Health Officer and CDC have been notified. We are following protocols established by the Health Authority, the Office of the Provincial Health Officer and BC Center for Disease Control.

We will continue to act upon their latest advice, and will adapt our operations as necessary and recommended.
