Hello family & friends of Rosemary Heights!

Happy New Year’s Eve!  We are relieved to tell you that there are no current cases of COVID-19 in our residents or staff here at Rosemary Heights Seniors Village.  Should the status of our Community change in any respect, please know that we will immediately contact families. We continue to monitor all residents & staff daily for any symptoms.

As we look forward to welcoming another year, a good reminder to everyone throughout these uncertain times, please welcome this new year, this new chapter, with new pages and new wishes.  May this year give you more courage, more strength, more confidence, more patience, much more self-love and inner peace. May everyday in 2021 fill your days with hope, love, joy, and positive energy.

As always a huge Thank you to our team at Rosemary Heights.  Be proud of the work you do, the person you are and the difference you are making.  I know I am so proud for this special team of people.

We are trusting that you and your families are following the Provincial Health order in a cumulative effort to flatten the curve.  Until January 8th, as per the PHO, residents should only be leaving the building for essential needs/medical appointments only not on any social visits.

NEW ORDERS: As I am sure most of you have seen Dr. Bonnie Henry’s message that until Jan 8th she wants all of us to limit people we see and stay in our bubbles, that means no outside social visits, only essential needs and medical appointments.

Please note that all visitors are now required to wear a medical mask when coming to Rosemary Heights. Cloth masks are no longer acceptable.

In person visits, calls

We will continue to offer scheduled video calls for those families who live out of town or are unable to come in for any reason. Please connect with Jaylene Smillie in our recreation department by emailing jsmillie@retirementconcepts.com or by calling 778-545-5000 ext. 1007

Designated Visitor schedules will now be accepted in our designated meeting areas. There is no change in Mandate of number of visitors (one only) as per Health Authority – protocols remain as is:

Communication

We will now move to sending out a weekly letter every Thursday to communicate to all the families.  We will also post the weekly updates under Retirement Concepts Covid-19 Updates on our website.

Deliveries and Drop-offs:

Monday-Friday 10am-2pm, and Saturday 1-3pm only, closed to all Sunday deliveries:

  1. Please use plastic bags, no reusable bags.
  2. Make sure to label all bags with resident name and room number.  No heavy deliveries
  3. Try to limit drop offs to essential items – as we are inundated with drop-offs.

Please do not drop off items after hours, we do not have staff to be able to accept it and may be left outside until the designated time listed, if you do, you will be taking your chances & we will not be responsible for anything that is left after hours.

Thank You

Thank you to many of our extended families & friends for your words of inspiration during some tough times, & your thoughtful gestures.  We are thankful for cards of well wishes, gratitude and the many sweet & savory treats. As we all continually adapt to the world around us, we are humbled & comforted by the kindness expressed by resident families, our team and community outreach partners.  I also wanted to acknowledge and say a huge thank you to our Corporate Support Office and Emergency response team for their never ending support and for the work you do behind the scenes for us at site level.

We want to thank everyone for their cooperation and patience during these ever-changing circumstances. We can’t thank you all enough. This year has been hard, and this year’s struggles will undoubtedly carry into the next year, but we can all agree that we’ve remained steadfast and strong, and that our love, our companionship, and our support for one another have tripled. We sincerely wish you all a safe and healthy NYE and all the best for 2021!

A huge thank you to everyone on our team at Rosemary Heights for your hard work, grace, and persistence!

Stay Safe, stay calm, & stay kind.

– Your team at Rosemary Heights Seniors Village (RHSV)
