Hello Everyone!
As we go into the Easter weekend, we as a team wanted to thank all of you for your support and understanding.
Guidelines/14-day isolation has been stopped: As per guidelines, the 14-day isolation period has been lifted as per PHO orders. This also applies to you if you go to hospital and are away for longer than 24 hours – no need to isolate. If you are a new resident, no need to isolate. If you leave to spend time with your family on the weekend and come back. No need to isolate- how very exciting!
VISITATION GUIDELINES – BOOKING APPOINTMENTS:
As you are aware the new guidelines come into effect on April 1st. We will continue to have a Screener/Greeter at the front doors which all visitors must come to and be pre-screened, temperature taken and sign in. If you do not have a medical grade mask one will be provided for you. Our booking and schedule will not change, so please use the email address for booking appointments (see info below). The guidelines state you can have 2 adults and 1 child (18yrs or younger) at a time in your suite following all guidelines. This means once your guests have pre-screened they must go directly to your suite. When the visit is over, they must sign out and go directly out. Please remind your family and friends that in order to keep everyone safe, we will continue to keep track of all visitors in the building. We are excited that Dr. Bonnie Henry and the MHO have decided to ease restrictions, but also keep in mind they have enforced no in-dining experience when you go out of the building.
For the safety of all of our residents & staff, and to minimize the possible risk of exposure we are requesting that visits occur in your loved one’s suite/room only, please do not access common areas, dining areas or walk hallways.
As a reminder, the vaccine is not 100% effective, and there are new variants going around that may not be prevented by current vaccines. Please remind your loved ones not to relax the practices of hand hygiene, physical distancing, and other safety measures that will keep them safe and healthy.
HOW TO BOOK A VISIT:
Protocols
Aside from the single visitor policy, we are following the direction of our public health officials and have full infection prevention and control precautions in place. Staff continue to monitor residents closely and are ensuring the following protocols are being adhered to:
Essential Visitors: Please know that if you are already an essential visitor you will continue to be at the request of your family member. The difference between an ESSENTIAL and SOCIAL designate is that IF we should go into Outbreak an Essential Visit would continue where a SOCIAL visit would stop immediately until we are in the clear.
Please note that all visitors are required to wear a medical mask when coming to visit their loved one. Cloth masks are no longer acceptable. At this time, isolation gowns and gloves are NOT required. Our teams will be here to assist during your scheduled visit, should you have any questions. If you do not have a medical grade mask, one can be provided to you at the front desk when getting pre-screened.
You MUST have a scheduled visit. Please do not show up without a time and date as you will be turned away.
NO visitors will be permitted at Rosemary Heights if an active outbreak is in progress
(if you are scheduled, you will be informed).
Recreation Program
Our team is dedicated to ensuring our residents are able to connect to their families and loved ones. We are happy to assist with virtual visits via FaceTime, Skype, and zoom, and we can arrange for phone calls with your loved ones.
We will continue to offer scheduled video calls for those families who live out of town or are unable to come in for any reason. Please connect with Jaylene Smillie in our recreation department by emailing jsmillie@retirementconcepts.com or by calling 778-545-5000 ext. 1007
Easter coloring contest ***REMINDER***
There is still time to submit a colored page for our Easter Egg coloring contest for our resident’s grandchildren (& great grandkids)!
Hair Salon
We are happy to say that Rhonda is officially open and has already starting to see clients. Rhonda has given me permission to include her contact telephone number & email for families to reach her to book an appointment for your loved one. Please be patient & allow Rhonda time to be able to set schedules, her contact number is 604-626-5449 and her email address is pace_rhonda@hotmail.com.
Fraud/Phone Scam Alerts
Unfortunately, it’s that time of year where phone scam and phishing emails are on the rise due not only Coronavirus, but tax season as well. Please remind your loved ones to beware of these scams and to NOT provide any personal information (SIN, Credit Card, Care Card, or Date of Birth) over the phone, or click on a random link in an email.
Deliveries
**Delivery hours are between 9am- 3pm, Mon-Sat and closed Sundays**
All deliveries will be received at the lobby entrance vestibule. This includes medication deliveries from pharmacies, other gifts and mail. All items will be sanitized and delivered directly to the residents’ suite.
Please do not drop off items after hours, we do not have staff to be able to accept it and may be left outside until the designated time listed, if you do, you will be taking your chances & we will not be responsible for anything that is left after hours.
Thank you
Take care, and let’s take care of each other.
– Your team at Rosemary Heights Seniors Village (RHSV)
