Dear Renfrew Care Centre Residents, Families and Staff:

We understand that these emails may seem repetitive. It is our intention to ensure family and friends know they can count on seeing emails daily and make sure they are not missing any important information.

Renfrew Care Centre works closely with Vancouver Costal Health (VCH) Authority to ensure proper and timely information is released to all family, emergency contacts and staff. To ensure that we provide accurate updates, the number of residents and/or staff who have been diagnosed with COVID-19, will be presented Monday – Friday. Please rest assured that should anyone test positive for COVID-19 over a weekend, the family of that resident will be contacted immediately.

As outlined in our previous updates, staff will continue to wear personal protective equipment and we have implemented additional outbreak control measures that aim to prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses. These measures will continue for the foreseeable future to ensure the safety of your loved ones, as well as our staff.

We will continue to test and monitor residents and staff, track any exposures and work to prevent further transmission. If your family member, or person you are the primary contact for, is diagnosed with COVID-19 you will be contacted directly by phone.

We recognize that this is a challenging time and we appreciate your patience and support. I assure you that we remain committed to the health and safety of residents, families and staff and that we are all working diligently to control this outbreak.

Please know that we will keep you informed about the safety and well-being of your loved ones. By providing these updates you are able to have contact information readily available should you need it. These emails are also posted to the webpage after they have been sent out.
