Dear Renfrew Care Centre Residents, Families and Staff:

We thank each and every one of our residents, staff and you, the families and friends, for your continuous support and understanding as we navigate thru this pandemic.

To ensure accurate accounting is delivered, the number of residents and or staff that are COVID-19 positive, will be presented in the Monday to Friday emails only. Please rest assured that should anyone test positive for COVID-19 over a weekend, the family of that resident will be contacted immediately. Weekend emails are to make sure that contact information is readily available to you.

Should your loved one require testing, you will be contacted by phone and kept up to date on any results. General results will be updated in these emails.

The staff members with active COVID-19, are at home isolating and families of residents that have tested positive have been notified. Staff will not return to work until they are cleared by the health authorities.

We understand that these emails may seem repetitive. It is our intention to ensure family and friends know they can count on seeing emails daily and make sure they are not missing any important information. Renfrew Care Centre works closely with Vancouver Costal Health authority to ensure proper and timely information is released to all family, emergency contacts and staff.

Affected floors remain on droplet precaution, and all staff and residents from those floors have been tested for COVID-19.  If your family member, or person you are the primary contact for, is diagnosed with COVID-19 you will be contacted directly by phone.

Staff continue to wear personal protective equipment. We have also implemented additional outbreak control measures that aim to prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses. These measures include halting general visitation, meal delivery to certain suites, social distancing as well as limiting interactions. These measures will continue for the foreseeable future to ensure the safety of your loved ones, as well as our staff.

We recognize that this is a challenging time and we appreciate your patience and support. I assure you that we remain committed to the health and safety of residents, families and staff and that we are all working diligently to control this outbreak.
