Peace Portal Seniors Village –November 5, 2020 Update

Dear Friends and Families of Peace Portal Seniors Village,

We are very pleased to inform all families that Fraser Health Authority officials have now confirmed that Peace Portal Seniors Village is NO LONGER AN ACTIVE COVID-19 SITE.

Our last case was cleared on Saturday, October 31st.  Within the next 14 days, it will be critical to follow rigorous infection control and prevention methods for the safety of our residents.

Although we are pleased to inform all families that Fraser Health Authority officials cleared Peace Portal Seniors Village, today we have 2 residents and 2 staff with symptoms. The two residents were immediately placed on droplet and PPE precautions and a swab was conducted. The 2 staff members are isolating at home and have also been swabbed. Results should be available within 24-48 hours. Out of an abundance of caution, we have put our “return to normal” processes on hold, until testing is completed.

This means we are back to a “no visitor” policy, but families can contact the following to arrange for visits by facetime, skype or phone calls.

You can contact Sandra Kaethler at skaethler@retirementconcepts.com to arrange a day and time.

The dining rooms will also remain closed and residents will continue to dine in their suites.

All resident recreation programming remains paused.

We will continue to act upon the latest advice of Fraser Health Authority, and adapt our operations as necessary and as recommended, to reduce the risk of infection and transmission as much as possible.

We will continue to communicate with all families via email on a daily basis.

We know this continues to be an anxious time for everyone.  We would like to close this communication by thanking families for their tremendous support and patience during this difficult period.

We also wish to acknowledge PPSV staff, who continue to go above and beyond.

Your TEAM at Peace Portal Seniors Village
