Family and friends of Peace Portal Seniors Village,

As we informed everyone, 2 staff members had tested positive for COVID-19. The most recent was last on site May 21st and tested positive May 24th for COVID 19.

All swabs previously sent out for both east and west wing have returned negative.

The second floor west wing is no longer on droplet precaution.

East wing remains on droplet precaution but if everything remains clear, we should be removed soon.

We continue to be on enhanced monitoring for the time being and will continue to follow our exposure protocols as below:

Second floor east wing on droplet precautions

-Visitations for the second Floor east wing remain canceled

-Visitations for the second floor west wing may resume

Room service meals remain for the second floor east wing

-Enhanced re-cleaning of all areas

-Enhanced monitoring of residents and staff for any symptoms

Currently no residents or staff are experiencing any symptoms.

All staff and students adhere to strict sanitization, handwashing, masking and screening policies and procedures while on site or working with any residents.

Communication

As is our protocol, in the event of any positive test, we provide families with a daily email update.  Should the condition of any specific resident change, their family will be notified immediately.

To inquire about facetime/skype or phone calls, please contact:   PPSV Recreation <ppsv-recreation@retirementconcepts.com>

Protocols

BC’s Medical Health Officer has been notified, and the Peace Portal Seniors Village is following protocols established by Fraser Health Authority, the Office of the Provincial Health Officer, BC Center for Disease Control as well as our Emergency Response Team Corporate protocols.

We will continue to act upon the latest advice of BC’s Health Ministry and will adapt our operations as necessary and recommended.

Deliveries

All deliveries will be received at the lobby entrance vestibule.  This includes medication deliveries from pharmacies, floral arrangements, gifts and mail.  All items will be sanitized and delivered directly to the residents’ suite.

Dropping items off

We would ask that families please follow these guidelines to ensure loved ones will receive their deliveries in a timely manner:

  1. Please use plastic bags not reusable bags;
  2. Make sure to label all bags with the resident’s name and suite number;
  3. Try to limit drop offs to essential items; and
  4. If possible, please sanitize the items before dropping off.  We will re-sanitize as well to be safe

Acknowledgements

We wish to thank families and loved ones in advance for their patience and cooperation.

Thanks again to all of you for your continuing support of Peace Portal Seniors Village.
