NO RESIDENTS are presenting COVID-19 signs or symptoms at Monterey Seniors Village. However, we recognize that this is an anxious time for you and your families, and we hope that by continuing to send out bi-weekly updates, we can provide some reassurance to you on the care of your loved-one.

Should the status of Monterey Seniors Village change in any respect, please know that we will immediately contact families.

Meals

We are happy to say that meals have been going well in the dining rooms while continuing to follow physical distancing, outbreak protocols and resident preferred seating areas and times.

To accommodate two seating’s, the dining room timings are:

• Breakfast – 7:30 am–8:15 am/ 8:30 am–9:15 am
• Lunch – 11:30 am–12:15 pm/ 12:30 pm–1:15 pm
• Dinner – 4:30 pm–5:15 pm/ 5:30 pm–6:15 pm

Family Visits

We are still only allowing essential visitors into the building and our non-essential social visits have been going very well. Visiting and being outdoors are important to everyone’s mental health and wellbeing, so to protect our residents and the community, the following provincial restrictions apply for outdoor visits:

• Visits can only be arranged with residents who are NOT on isolation
• The designated visitor must arrange the visit with Monterey by calling the reception and booking a date and time.
• Visitors and residents must wash or sanitize their hands before and after visits
• Do not touch your face
• Visitors and residents must wear a mask at all times
• Visitors and residents must remain at least two metres apart. Exceptions may be made when pushing a wheelchair or talking to those with impaired hearing
• No pets
• Staff will screen residents when they re-enter the site
• No more than two people can visit a resident at one time (maximum group size of 3).
• We are all responsible for keeping our residents safe. Visits may be stopped if restrictions are not followed.

We are still doing FaceTime and one on one visits between recreational aides and residents.  Please contact the recreational department to book a time to FaceTime with your loved one.

Recreational Activities

Our recreation programing has also been going very well.  We have had full activities and residents have been enjoying participating and socializing with fellow residents and staff.

Our patios are open, and we are encouraging everyone to enjoy them.  Some activities are taking place on the patio, weather permitting.

The outside surrounding grounds on site have been beautifully landscaped and decorated and we encourage all residents to enjoy these outside areas as well!
