We are pleased to inform you that the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) has lifted the outbreak status at Monterey Senior’s Village.
All residents remain asymptomatic and can now engage in social activities and enjoy their meals in the dining room while practicing safe physical distancing. Visits can resume, but only with essential family/support persons, as per Dr. Hinshaw’s recommendations. We continue to discourage non-essential community outings with residents at this time.
We continue to operate under many of our outbreak protocols. Staff will continue to be screened before every shift and will self-screen during their working hours. During their shift, staff continue to practice physical distancing and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with the guidance of AHS and the MOH.
We are monitoring the situation closely to ensure we are doing everything possible to prevent a potential spread. If any resident displays symptoms, they will receive immediate attention and be put on isolation. A swab will be taken, and the resident’s family will be notified.
We remain committed to providing updates to our residents, families, and staff. Now that these restrictions are lifted, we will discontinue the daily update and resume our weekly community update delivered on Thursdays. If, at any point, there is a positive COVID-19 test result or a unit/group of residents are placed in precautionary isolation, it remains our protocol to communicate this and reinstate our daily updates.
Thank you for all of your support.
