Hello Family and Friends,

We hope you are all staying safe and healthy during these times.

This communication is to inform you that one of our staff members has tested positive to COVID-19.  Here are the important facts we have, and want to share with you all.

The staff member’s last day on site was Tuesday October, 27.  They were asymptomatic while they were on site, and they are currently at home, in isolation, and still showing no symptoms.

We have notified the Fraser Health Authority and will follow the Protocols and direction of Fraser Health Authority, the BC health regulator who licenses us to provide the care that your family member receives from us.

No residents or staff members have any COVID symptoms.

All essential and social visits are cancelled, and all group activities are on hold until we know more.  We will revise our programming as appropriate to try to ensure your loved one still has some social stimulation through this period while we await further direction.

We request and strongly encourage all of our Independent and Assisted Living residents to remain on site at this time.  Medically necessary appointments can be made, however it is imperative that you inform the medical office you are attending that you are coming from an Outbreak Community.

Communication

As a result of the one confirmed case of COVID-19, we will provide families with a daily email update and will share information as we receive it.  Should the condition of any resident change, their family will be notified immediately.

To inquire about facetime/skype or phone calls, please contact Kim Knudsen, Manager of Recreation & Volunteer Services at kknudsen@retirementconcepts.com or call 604-476-4320.

Meal Services

The dining rooms remain open at this time while we await direction from the Fraser Health Authority.

Deliveries

All deliveries will be received at the front desk.  This includes groceries, medications and gifts. All items will be sanitized and delivered directly to the resident’s suites.

When dropping items off:  We ask families to please follow the guidelines below in order to ensure that your loved one gets their deliveries in a timely manner:

  1. Please use plastic bags, no reusable bags;
  2. Make sure to label all bags with the resident’s name and room number

We wish to thank staff, residents and families for their cooperation and understanding as we move through this period.

Please know that the care and safety of residents is our number one priority, and that we treat this situation very seriously.

Sincerely,

The Maple Ridge Seniors Village (MRSV) Leadership Team and Staff
