Hello Family and Friends,

We hope everyone had a safe and Happy Halloween yesterday, and were able to get outside today to enjoy this glorious Fall weather!

We are happy to report that we continue to be outbreak-free at Maple Ridge Seniors Village.  To recap, we had a staff member test positive for COVID-19 on Friday, but Public Health did not declare us in outbreak.

We are relieved to tell you that our residents and staff remain COVID symptom free at this time.

Although we are technically not in an outbreak, we will continue our precautions and extra protocols for the next four (4) days.  This includes extra housekeeping and increasing our health checks from twice daily to three times daily just to ensure extra monitoring.

We should be able to resume “business as usual” as of Thursday, November 5th.   Until then, all essential and social visits, and group activities are still on hold.  We will revise our programming as appropriate to try to ensure your loved one still has some social stimulation through this period while we await further direction.

We request and strongly encourage all of our Independent and Assisted Living residents to remain on site at this time.  Medically necessary appointments can be made, however it is imperative that you inform the medical office you are attending that you are coming from a community that had an exposure to COVID-19.

Communication

We will continue to provide families with a daily email update over the next 4 days.  Should the condition of any resident change, their family will be notified immediately.

To inquire about facetime/skype or phone calls, please contact Kim Knudsen, Manager of Recreation & Volunteer Services at kknudsen@retirementconcepts.com or call 604-476-4320.

Meal Services

The dining rooms continue to remain open.

Deliveries

All deliveries will be received at the front desk.  This includes groceries, medications and gifts. All items will be sanitized and delivered directly to the resident’s suites.

When dropping items off:  We ask families to please follow the guidelines below in order to ensure that your loved one gets their deliveries in a timely manner:

  1. Please use plastic bags, no reusable bags;
  2. Make sure to label all bags with the resident’s name and room number

We thank you for your patience with our team through these busy next few days.

As always, the care and safety of residents is our number one priority and we will continue to do everything in our control to keep them safe, healthy and happy!

Sincerely,

The Maple Ridge Seniors Village (MRSV) Leadership Team and Staff
