Dear residents, family members and friends,
We have limited new information to share with you today. Yesterday Public Health declared our 3rd floor in Residential Care on outbreak after a practicum student tested positive for COVID-19. The student worked at Maple Ridge Seniors Village last on January 8th.
At this time we have completed all additional swabs for staff and are awaiting the results. Today we have been instructed to re-swab all residents on our 3rd floor in Residential Care. We will be completing these swabs tomorrow.
Once again, the outbreak does not affect our 1st & 2nd floors in Residential Care, or our Independent Living/Assisted Living (all floors).
We continue our staff cohorting, enhanced monitoring, and residents on our 3rd floor in Residential Care remain on droplet precaution.
No residents or Maple Ridge Seniors Village staff have any COVID-19 symptoms at this time.
All essential and social visits are cancelled, and all group activities are on hold until we receive the most recent swab results. We will revise our programming as appropriate to try to ensure our residents have some social stimulation through this period while we await further direction.
To inquire about facetime/skype or phone calls, please contact Kim Knudsen, Manager of Recreation & Volunteer Services at email@example.com or call 604-476-4320.
We request and strongly encourage all of our Independent and Assisted Living residents to remain on site at this time. Medically necessary appointments can be made, however it is imperative that you inform the medical office you are attending that you are coming from an Outbreak Community.
We will continue to provide families with a daily email update over the coming days. Should the condition of any resident change, their family will be notified immediately.
The dining room in Residential Care 3rd floor is closed until further notice.
The dining rooms in our Independent Living/Assisted Living, as well as Residential Care 1st & 2nd floors are currently open.
All deliveries will be received at the front desk. This includes groceries, medications and gifts. All items will be sanitized and delivered directly to the resident’s suites.
When dropping items off: We ask families to please follow the guidelines below in order to ensure that your loved one gets their deliveries in a timely manner:
We thank you for your patience with our team through these busy next few days.
If you have any urgent questions or concerns please contact Bianca, our General Manager at 604.760.2209. We ask that you please refrain from calling the Nursing Stations at this time so we can allow our Nursing Team to focus on the care of our residents.
As always, the care and safety of residents is our number one priority and we will continue to do everything in our control to keep them safe, healthy and happy!
