August 30, 2020
We hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!
We are pleased to continue to report that there are still no other reported cases of Covid-19 at Maple Ridge Seniors Village (MRSV).
Fraser Health Authority has MRSV in phase-2 of the de-escalation process.
We remain in Outbreak Mode however residents are no longer isolated to their rooms. We have re-started some recreational activities involving small groups, while observing social distancing and appropriate protocols.
Family visitations remain cancelled for the time being.
We would like to stress that this is the requirement of the Fraser Health Authority. We must follow Fraser Health Authority Rules, Regulations and Protocols.
We have been calling Families to answer any questions or concerns about the process. If you have not had a phone call and wish for us to contact you, please feel free to respond to this email.
With everyone’s continued support and diligence, we hope to be back to normal soon.
As a result of the one confirmed case of COVID-19, we will continue to provide families with a daily email update. We have also phoned all families. If you do not wish to receive these emails, please let us know.
Should the condition of any resident change, their family will be notified immediately.
Once we receive the “all clear” from the Health Authority, the email updates will return to a once weekly schedule.
To inquire about facetime/skype or phone calls, please contact Kim Knudsen, Manager of Recreation & Volunteer Services at mailto: firstname.lastname@example.org or call 604-476-4320.
The requirement from Fraser Health Authority is for All dining rooms to remain closed. This includes the second floor dining room. We continue to provide in-room dining for all residents in Assisted living and Residential Care. Independent Living residents are able to come down to pick up their meals. Our kitchen staff will continue to offer choices in meal preferences, as we did previously when residents dined in their rooms prior to COVID-19.
All deliveries will be received at the front desk. This includes groceries, medications and gifts. All items will be sanitized and delivered directly to the resident’s suites.
When dropping items off, we ask families to please follow the guidelines below in order to ensure that your parent or loved one gets their deliveries in a timely manner:
Outside Visits by Independent Living or Assisted Living Residents. – Essential Appointments only
Fraser Health Authority has asked us to inform Independent and Assisted Living residents and their families that if they are planning to depart the Facility for outside appointments, that they should advise those at the destinations in advance that they are coming from a site that is in Covid Outbreak Mode.
We wish to thank staff, residents and families for their continued support and words of encouragement! Thank you to everyone.
