Hello Everyone,

Here is your daily status update:

We are happy to still say that

As of this point – There are no other confirmed cases in Staff or Residents.

All Staff and Resident swabs that have come back so far are Negative

We are awaiting return of some staff swabs.

We are in Day 8 of COVID OUTBREAK MODE at Maple Ridge Seniors Village, and continue to follow the Protocols and direction of our licensing body, The Fraser Health Authority.

As we communicated previously, one case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in a staff member at Maple Ridge Seniors Village.  That staff member is home, in self-isolation and still shows no symptoms. They are past the isolation/quarantine period but out of an abundance of caution, we have extended this period.

Please know that the care and safety of residents is our number one priority, and that we treat this situation very seriously.  To that end, family visitations have been cancelled for the time being, and all group activities have been terminated. 

Again, we would like to stress that this is the requirement of the Fraser Health Authority.  We must follow Fraser Health Authority Rules, Regulations and Protocols.

Communication

As a result of the one confirmed case of COVID-19, we will provide families with a daily email update.  Should the condition of any resident change, their family will be notified immediately.

Once we receive the all clear from the Health authority the email updates will return to a once weekly schedule.

Meal Services 

The requirement from Fraser Health Authority is for All dining rooms to be closed during this time, this includes the second floor dining room. As such, we are providing in room dining for all residents in assisted living and Residential Care. Independent Living are able to come down to pick up their meals. Our kitchen staff will continue to offer choices in meal preferences, as we did previously when residents dined in their rooms prior to COVID-19. 

Deliveries

All deliveries will be received at the front desk.  This includes groceries, medications and gifts. All items will be sanitized and delivered directly to the resident’s suites.

When dropping items off:  We ask families to please follow the guidelines below in order to ensure that your parent or loved one gets their deliveries in a timely manner:

1. Please use plastic bags, no reusable bags;
2. Make sure to label all bags with the resident’s name and room number; and
3. Try to limit drop-offs to essential items.  It is during a COVID-19 outbreak, that we experience the greatest reduction in staff.

Outside Visits by Independent Living or Assisted Living Residents. – Essential Appointments only

Fraser Health Authority has asked us to inform Independent and Assisted Living Residents and their families that if they are planning to depart the Facility for outside appointments they require, that they should advise those at the destinations in advance that they are coming from a site that is in Covid Outbreak Mode.
