Hello Everyone,

Once again happy to report that No Residents or staff are presenting COVID-19 signs or symptoms at Langley Seniors Village.

Policy Change to Residents leaving Langley Seniors Village for Overnight Visits

As everyone is aware, the number of new COVID-19 cases in British Columbia and elsewhere are on the rise. With these numbers increasing, we continually have to assess the risks associated with COVID-19 when it comes to our residents and staff. As a result, we will be implementing a new policy in an effort to reduce the risk of transmission within our community. Effective immediately, any resident that leaves Langley Seniors Village on an overnight outing will now be required to complete a 14 day quarantine upon their return to our community. As mentioned above, this new policy is being introduced to help us reduce and manage our risks for both other residents and staff working at LSV.

Our Scarecrow at Art’s Nursery:  Once again we sponsored a Scarecrow at Art’s Nursery for their charity fundraiser.  The Scarecrow Stroll is on at Art’s Nursery (8940 192nd St.) in Surrey until October 31st.  Due to Covid-19 we are unable to take the residents to do the Scarecrow Stroll this year so please check it out and take a picture of you with our sponsored “Little Dutch Boy” scarecrow (right in front of the pop up pumpkin patch and the sign helps) and if you’d like to send it to me I will post it for your family member and all the residents to see.

Reminders for your loved one to Stay Safe:

Again, the following four points are so critical to discuss with your loved ones. Please help us by reminding each resident daily of the following four items:

  1. Practice social distancing (6 feet apart)
  2. Perform proper Hand Hygiene (Wash hands frequently for 20 seconds with the alcohol-based sanitizer or soap and hot water) 20 second or greater is so important.
  3. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
  4. If exhibiting any symptoms (fever, cough and difficulty breathing) please alert staff immediately.

As always we thank you for your patience and understanding during these trying times.

Thank You and Stay Healthy!
