We are again happy to report that NO RESIDENTS are presenting COVID-19 signs or symptoms at Langley Seniors Village.
Should the status of Langley Seniors Village change in any respect, please know that we will immediately contact families.

Lockdown at Langley Seniors Village
I just want to remind everyone that we remain on lockdown at Langley Seniors Village. We continue to ask everyone to be respectful of this measure as it is for resident and staff safety. Visiting outside the building with your loved-one is not an option, even if physical distancing and PPE is used. The Public Health Officer in BC is stating we still need to have these measures in place.
Protocols
We continue to follow the direction of our public health officials to the letter and have full infection prevention and control precautions in place. Staff continue to monitor residents closely and are ensuring the following protocols are being adhered to:
- restricting ALL visitors from the premises
- ensuring no staff member is working in multiple facilities
- staff are working strictly within an assigned unit and not multiple units
- care staff are removing outside clothing and footwear before entering the premises
- staff are screened for their temperature upon entrance to the building, and midway through their shift
- social distancing is occurring among residents in each community, including during mealtimes
- appropriate application and removal of personal protective equipment (PPE), and the use of individual slings (cloth component of a personal lift).
- ensuring ongoing, environmental cleaning and increased frequency of high touch surfaces in order to break the chain of infection
- staff and residents are committed to regular/proper hand hygiene to break the chain of infection, by washing their hands with soap and water and applying hand sanitizer.
Daily Assessments
Daily assessments of the residents continue – including temperature checks and well being.

Father’s Day
Planning is in the works for meals, activities and gifts to celebrate the amazing father’s that live at Langley Seniors Village.
Recreation Program
We have had an outpouring of support from the community, the latest being handmade cards from a women named Rhonda, her daughter (Julia) and her granddaughters. Below is a picture of some of these cards that were delivered to some residents yesterday. Additionally, for those who have not yet met our Recreation Programmer Precious, I have added a picture of her as well.
FaceTime or Skype
Recreation has changed to our general email address now, please use lsv-recreation@retirementconcepts.com or call (604) 539-9934 ext. 1023 if you wish to set up an appointment to FaceTime or Skype with family members.
Dropping Items Off
Just a reminder when dropping off items:
- 10am to 2pm
- Please use plastic bags, no reusable bags.
- Make sure to label all bags with resident name and room number.
- Please limit drop offs to essential items. There are days when staff are overwhelmed trying to keep up.
Once items are dropped off they are sanitized and delivered to the suites.
General Store
The store continues to be well stocked with the most common items the residents request.
Reminders for your loved one to Stay Safe:
Again, the following four points are so critical to discuss with your loved ones. Please help us by reminding each resident daily of the following four items:
- Practice social distancing (6 feet apart)
- Perform proper Hand Hygiene (Wash hands frequently for 20 seconds with the alcohol-based sanitizer or soap and hot water) 20 second or greater is so important.
- Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
- If exhibiting any symptoms (fever, cough and difficulty breathing) please alert staff immediately.
